So I have two plants on day 18 of flower, in the past I've cut a lot of leaves out to get light to the lower buds. I've been doing a lot of research and I really want to get a good harvest with these gals and I want some opinions. A lot of what I read about trimming in flower is 50/50. I did a good amount during veg to open them up and stopped after the first week of flower. I'm concerned that the canopy is getting very dense.. what do you guys think, would you take some out or leave the plants as is? Strains are Durban poison and mangala cookies (new strain no info) Both are in 10gal pots under a 600w hps. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Thanks! I'm gonna do that later tonight. Would you thin out some of the larger fan leaves above? There's a lot of tops hidden under them.. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
You'll get different opinions on leaf removal - I do a scrog and I remove leaves everyday - not defoliation, just pruning the light blockers.
Gotcha, that's what I did through out veg and early flower. I just stopped for a week and they got so dense.. anyways here's the after shots Hope this helps with airflow and humidity, I don't feel like racking up my electric bill with a dehumidifier just yet Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I would have done the same. what was under there creates air flow issues and flying bugs like to hang there. now it looks like your close to an even canopy that will fill out the space. a utilizing the net is key.Nice work. GFP Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
I have tried it both ways on two diff strains i ran for long time tangerine dream and sativa sour diesel plucking on the tangerine helped marginaly i got more weight by harvesting the tops and letting the rest go a couple more weeks, i do trim the under brush like you did on all scrogs still though
Cool cool, thanks guys! my humidity was running a little high before and that defiantly helped, plus the plants are just as happy, maybe happier! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
