Adopting an ex-K9 Cop dog

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by dablade80, Feb 6, 2010.

  1. Does anybody know of any program that takes the old, retired K9 dogs and looks for homes for them? I'm sure some are adopted by their handlers if they become attached, but if they get a replacement dog, I would think they wouldn't let them keep their old one. Not sure though, but I would love to adopt one because I absolutely love german sheperds, you know the dog would be well-trained, and how cool would it be to have him help you find your stash? lol, keep it in an extremely well made kevlar toy (strong enough to where it would take hours and hours for him to chew through it, and you would teach him not to) and you could even have him FETCH your stash for you. Tell me that wouldn't be the coolest dog ever. :smoke: Thanks for any advice or information yall have!

  2. usually the pets stay "within the organization". If the handler doesnt keep it when the dog retires, someone who already knows the dog will usually take it. Like the cage handler or someone in the offices.

  3. Is he a drug dog? That would be hilarious like it's trained to freak out when he smells mary jay and it'll just freak out for days. Omg you have no idea how funny that is to me right now! Peace.

  4. haha idk if thats a good idea, it would attack u everytime u smoke hahah

Well, thanks to yourhighness for completely ruining my dream :-(. jk, but thanks for the info

And as for him freaking out or attacking you, they are trained to find the drugs, like marijuana, by the handler hiding a toy that smells like the drug. Then the dog is rewarded for bring that toy back. So if you find a dog with the right like "attitude" he would just be like a stoner, a happy go lucky dog, that would be playful about finding the drugs.*edit* lol, but I'ma get back to playing Halo now. lol, I'm on that citrus skunk, lol.

    - No talk of getting pets high, check out the forum rules.

  6. These are usually kept within a precincts friends and family, any service dogs have long lists of people wanting to take them in.

Retired Greyhounds have a long waiting list too.

  7. Idea!!!!

I just remembered that a friend of mine's brother wants to be a K9 cop. If he does, then whenever he retires his dog, I'll try to somehow adopt him them. That sounds like a long term plan, like years and years though. Anybody have any ideas on a short term plan on how we could adopt one somehow?

  8. Orange sounds yummy! Haha stoner pets! I would love to see my cat high, she's already so wierd! I apparently love to shout! *calms down* I think my kitty would learn the smell, find it and eat it, and go on a loooooooooong ride. Har! :hello:

I heard that you can train any dog to find weed. Theres loads of guides on how to on the internet. If you really want a German Shepherd you could get one. Then just teach it how to find ganj. :hello::smoke:

  10. Yea dude you can teach dogs to do anything, My Black Lab Border Collie Mix can find your ganja lol.

  11. When I was dry and shitbroke I always had dreams about this late at night.. like having a cat or dog that you could order to go outside and walk around until they pick up the scent of some weed or coke then viciously attack and steal the drugs then bring them home for me. id give them a nice doggy biscuit or some catnip for that.

  12. if you did get it, blow hits at it and see what happens :D

  13. i train german shepherds for the police force and bomb squads and then distribute them but i dont know about them being put back up on adoption. What usually happens is the cop will have that dog until it dies

  14. oh and yeah...if you get your hands on a drug dog youll never lose a dime bag again!! lol

  15. why dont you adopt your own german sheperd then train it yourself? that way you get a bond with the dog and you are its master. that way it will probally listen to you better.

  16. Of course if nonsmoking family (usually parents) comes over, your doggy might want to play a game of fetch the ganja right there.

  17. Hahahaha! That's awesome! Someone should make a movie about this. It's too impractical for me to actually do this, but this idea can not be left alone haha.

  18. Haha A good way to find missing bud

  19. I'm priddy sure they are really expensive, if they have gone through that program. Yoiu may have some luck if you know a cop that has one or something, they retire fairly young I believe as well.

    Keep it green man. :smoke:
