Adding Cal-Mag to water question?

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by Individuality, Jan 26, 2011.

  1. So my plant has been suffering bad from ca deficiency and is slowly showing mg deficiency as well. I bought some cal-mag and ready the instructions. It says 5ml per gallon for soil, 10ml per gallon for accelerated soil. and then it doesnt tell me how much for hydroponics it just gives me the ppm for Ca and Mg

So do i add the Cal-mag to my already mixed nutrients or does the cal-mag need its own fresh water to brew in?

Some one help me out please. My babies diein on meh!

  2. What brand cal-mag do you have?

  3. its the botanicare cal-mag plus

  4. I use the same type of Cal-mag. I add 1 tsp (5 ml)/gallon of water directly to your rez tank(add directly to your already mixed nutes.) If it is a really bad case of the deficiency, I would even go as much as 1.5-2 tsp/gallons.

You should then keep adding 1 tsp/gallon of cal-mag with every flush that you do, for maintenance. The leaves won't turn back to normal so don't expect the deficiency to reverse. Just examine the new growth and make sure it's getting better.

You will probably be fighting with the deficiency for a while, or even until the end of flower. But if you are adding cal-mag, it shouldn't affect the growth/production of the plant.

What strain are you running? How far along is she? Good luck!

Thanks marduk. I just mixed up a batch of medicine for the lady. Thanks for filling me in on the deficiency. I would have thought the deficiency was still going on if I hadnt known it would not go away on the areas it has already affected. Right now im in the third week about and she is iether a master kush or a PPP. I got the nirvana fem mix bag ith 5 seeds and Ive been trying to compare her to others. So im guessing one of those two. If not i may just have to name her and see what happens. But other than the leaves gettin all messed up around the bottom, she is thriving. I see new growth everyday, little leaves popping out everywhere . Its exciting.

  6. No problem. If there are a lot more healthier leaves on the plant. I would just cut off the leaves that are really bad. Since there isn't a pic, I don't know how bad it really is so I couldn't tell ya what i'd do. It's hard to tell if it's getting better or worse if theres already damage chilling on the leaves (if you're like me, you'd check them daily trying to re-assure yourself it's getting better.)

Let's hope it's master kush......I love master kush.....
