I was wondering if adding a few earhworms from a bait shop to your soil would help the plants because they produce fertillizer and are constantly airating the soil so i figure they would help produce a better yield? or maybe they would ruin the crop?!? peace out
does anyone know? iwas wodering the same thins plus i8t would airate the soil as well giving the roots more oxygen
yea man, earthworms airate the soil coz theyre burrowing through it, and fertilizing it when they shit....so theyre definatly good although the nutes in the soil, if if youre giving ur plant nutes, will probably kill them and theyll get all moldy like mine did lolol
the mental image i'm getting whilst thinking of an earthworm with scuba gear on is fucking funny as hell. lmfao.......
The Organic Gardening Catalogue in the UK sell earthworms and compost worms. But they are not cheap, earthworms are 17.45 UKpounds for 100. Many years ago I was a teacher, my subject was physics, but one year I got persuaded to do a general science class for primary kids. One lesson was to do with earthworms. I used to scatter some formalin over a few yards of the football pitch and dozens of worms would pop up. The kids thought it was magic!!
Thats formaldehyde basically isn't it - ya'd think they'd pickle - lol See - that's why I only scraped a D in my physics GCE.... hehehehe
This is another of those threads where the originator has not bothered to return and see his replies. However, I have now been inspired, and I have ordered 250 COMPOST worms. To put in my compost heap. And a book on Composting with Worms. This should be great fun!!!!
Ive heard worm casting are excelent fert. so what if you put worms in your pots pots and feed the worms which will then feed your plants. I googled eartworm food and found stuff.
