How many here hold a MMJ card for a condition they don't need to treat with cannabis? I keep hearing more and more people who pay doctors and make up stories in order to recieve a card. Heck, my friend is trying to get one because he gets "anxiety" sometimes. While I do believe MMJ has benefits, too many people are crying wolf and making a mockery of the system when there are people who truly need it for actual reasons.
I got my card for acid reflux, but I also use it to treat restlessness, boredom and stress. Is that legitimate enough for you?
Its very abused, I knew a guy who went to CO and got one, and dude has no issues what so ever. Its BS!
It shouldn't be illegal in the first place so poeple shouldn't even half to make shit up to smoke it. Don't get mad at people, get mad at our government who forces people to jump through hurrdles to smoke an herb. I have a med card because I had brain surgery and alot of pain from it. I dont hate on people who don't have as legit as a condition as myself.
That's what I'm talking about. While acid reflux is a nuisance, you don't need an MMJ card for it, there are other perfectly fine, non-medicinal treatments for it. As for the boredom and stress, I'll let you decide my take on it requiring an MMJ card........ It's a joke when active marijuana users apply for the card because all they're doing is making a joke out of those who truly need it.
One of the main arguments against MMJ is people making up health issues to get a card.... You have a perfectly good reason to use MMJ, unlike most, I'm not hating on you.
Who are you trying to kid? Most of the time it's going to be a stoner looking to get better quality buds
Like what? Acid reflux no only makes my stomach burn, but it ruins my appetite. Sorry if I don't feel like taking Prilosec and artificial appetite enhancers. Who are you to say what I do or do not need? It's my body, the whole idea is bogus to begin with. MMJ was always a loophole anyways.
Pro-biotics work great. You don't need a mind altering drug to cure acid reflux is all I'm saying; of course it's your body, all I'm saying is that MMJ has been made a mockery of and wouldn't be surprised thats the reason why prop 19 didn't pass.
I've heard some evil people argue that becasue MMJ is abused it should be abolished all together, but most people just want to regulate it further.
California was the first state to legalize MMJ. Other states are hesitant to follow as the MMJ program in California is routinely abused by those only looking to get high.
Everyone abuses every medicinal drug, nobody uses that as an argument to take them away though. I think you're barking up the wrong tree here...
It's because of the way the medicine is administered. The vast majority of stoners and users smoke it. People just can't take something seriously as a medicine when it's smoked, with colorful glass bongs and pipes and shit. While they do have alternatives most people don't use them. That's why scientists won't touch studying medicinal marijuana with a 10foot pole. Because studying the effects of orally ingesting marijuana isn't applicable to real life marijuana users who smoke the stuff.
First of all, the government is not making people "jump through hurdles to smoke a herb." Currently, recreational marijuana use is illegal if you were unaware. To say that people are being forced to lie (to get a MMJ card) so they can get high is the most ridiculous argument. Marijuana use is a choice, not a right.
I agree, people abuse all kinds of drugs, but when I hear of someone making up a medical issue so they can get high tells me a lot about the future of MMJ. You can be sure that MMJ abuse was a factor in prop19's fate. Oh and last time I checked, no one is proposing to legalize xanax bars for recreational purposes.
obviously its not a choice if its ILLEGAL. lol . If our government did not ban it, what hurdles would we have in front of us to prevent us from smoking it?
