In this man's mind killing scores of innocent people was justified.

When you live by the sword it should be no surprise when you eventually die by it, or by several five hundred pound bombs. Murder can terrorize people sure enough, but what do you do with the frightened masses, keeping in mind that "tomorrow" should be built upon our hopes and not our fears? Terrorism shows great short term gains but like with anything poorly considered it fails to inspire or capture the imagination of the people.

There's always a better way we just have to be willing to see that.

    Peace.

  2. Unfortunately, the Americans aren't doing much better. Marines are not policemen. Their training is for the likes of Normandy Beach and not city patrols. The problem is that when they come under fire, their training tells them to eliminate the threat first and foremost. A policman or MP's training is to help and protect civilians first and foremost. This is the fundemental problem that Americans are now facing in Iraq. When the Marines respond with virulent force against a smaller, rag tag force and manage to kill, or execute, dozens of innocents including elderly women and children, they drive the masses straight into the arms of the terrorists.

Lather, rinse, repeat, convolute, obfuscate, lie.... to us, Zarqawi and his ilk may appear to be the terrorists, but to many caught in the crossfire, things appear quite differently.

    Anyways, that's my 2 cents. :p
