PS look what I found on a diff forum, think this might be me???

    Molybdenum (Mo)

Molybdenum has proteins that help the plant take nitrogen from the air.

A Molybdenum deficiency causes leaves to have a pale, fringed and scorched look, along with weird or retarded leaf growth. Yellowing of middle leaves can occur as well as twisted younger leaves which will eventually die. Molybdenum deficiencies frequently resemble a nitrogen deficiency. A Molybdenum deficiency shows older chlorotic leaves with rolled margins and stunted growth. Looks like a nitrogen deficiency but with the red tips moving inwards to the middle of the leaves. Molybendum deficiency will usually show up in the older to middle aged leaves, then it moves to the young leaves. Generally a molybdenum deficiency occurs when sulfur and phosphorus are deficient.

Molybdenum toxicity doesn’t cause to many problems, but may cause problems when the human ingests it. Excessive molybdenum in cannabis will look like iron or copper deficiency. Parts affected are by the molybdenum deficiency are: Older leaves.

  2. Hey man your plant has none of those deficiencies; it is too young unless the pH is off. Your problem is from the fox farm soil. That soil has tons of fertilizer in it in the form of worm castings, guano, etc. This is causing an over fert problem for your plants despite you never feeding them.

A flush is when you give the plants 2x-3x as much water as the pot size. If you have a one gallon pot, give it 3 gallons of fresh pH balanced water to flush out those excess nutes.

  3. That fan looks like battery operated, a no go!

  4. its powered by a pc psu. check the posts.

Im bout to respond to the post about the soil and post the most recent pics as soon as photobucket uploads them. I got a surprise for y'all.

  5. alright, well yo, am I way off when I say that from my understanding when u over nute the plant it locks down and stops taking nutrients, which in turn causes deficincies? Is that right??? If so then I think we may be both right, that In the beginning I was overwatering the seedlings (every day) which overnuted the plants which locked them out causing Nitrogen deficiencies???? anyway I flushed them and hopefully their new growth continues to be healthy and green.

So I went in and got a nice deal on a new light setup. I got a T5 setup, 4 bulbs 2 feet long. And I grabbed this used dresser hutch thing for free and Im using it as sort of a grow box. Basically so I can close it if I need to. SO I got the light fixture, 4 veg bulbs, a ph meter and 2 "yo yo" sunlift light hangers, all brand new for $100!!!! nice huh?? we're talking about $200 value here. nice. so I changed up the whole setup and hopefully after a few tweaks well rock this thing. at least for veg untill I can figure out how to work an HID in my space. alright heres the pics. plants still look shady but the new ones look nice . . . . .

sort of a brids eye view of the T5 setup, here are a few more . . .

    and P5 sadhu

and now for the troubled bunch. n I think after a week in these new lights they will be looking much better but here is their current state, sad I know . . . .

heres a blurry pic of perky, diva and legs left to right. I have them setup aside fans now and the tempand humidty are looking nice.

Diva, not looking too good I know, but as u see in the last pic I clipped the worst leaves and I have faith in her still.

Legs. she got a little bit of the nute/deficiency problem. but Im confident she will pull through as well.

and perky. not much changes with her other than she keeps raising her hand to the sky.

anyway Im sooooooooooooooo tired but had to post. let me know what u think of the light setup and if u think the plants are gonna make it. hope yall are kickin it. peace.

Oh yeah check out this Grand Daddy I got a hold of. when the batch is right, this is one of my favorite strains. like candy when the shit is proper. alright yall peace.

  6. If your PH is skewed then you may get nutrient lock out. ;)

My opinion? You're way overthinking this. The cotyledons (first round water leaves) are supposed to die off. Until they do, no nutrients need to be added and just because they have died, doesn't mean it is mandatory to start feeding. Watch your leaves color and your growth to best determine when to start feeding.

If you are using preferted soil, that is not necessarily a bad thing. If the burning of the leaves continues up the plant, then you might have a problem with the soil and your particular strains. I know of growers that use fox farm for the entire grow with no problems.

If you are talking about flushing and over nuting and nutrient deficiencies and you haven't even got out of sprout stage...You're over thinking.

Quit messing with them and let them grow. See what happens and deal with anything that comes up. :confused_2:

  7. I havent really messed with them at all just flushed them and worried about them and improved their lights, but I think ur right Im stressing too much. Diva just looks all crazy for a seedling but the new growth is coming along nicely with these new lights. I dont and didnt plan on adding any nutes for a long time and now that I know the correct water schedule I think they've been responding nicely. think I was just overwatering them int he beginneng and thats all. Thanks so much for the information - this being my first grow I expected a few things to go wrong . . . its sort of a learning curve grow if u will. Thanks again for the info and the response. They shot up a little overnight Ill post some pics tomorrow morning. I think well be pleasantly surprised.

ps for as dank as that grand daddy looks the batch isnt that stony.

  8. havent been getting any sleep and Im kinda pissed about the growth rate of the plants so this will be a brief and emotionless update lol.

    heres the setup cropped

doesnt show u much but just an idea

and here are the plants. the new growth for the most part looks good but the sprouts are showing hints of yellow which scares me. I dont want them to go thru the same shit P1-3 did. I think its the fox farm maybe I just shouldnt raise seedlings in it. lol loks like Id be better of with MG. here are the pics

Here's Legs. Im hoping thats some purple on the new growth. She looks Ok, yeah????

Heres Diva. New growth is green and growing quicker then any of the other plants. hopefully this first round of ladies has gotten past the shock of the Fox farm. (fingers crossed)

and heres some of Perky. shes not as green anymore starting to yellow a little and not showing much growth. its been 3 weeks since I started germination. hmmmm.

and here are the sprouts. they look nice and green but the new growth is lookin yellow already if u can tell in the middle. I fear they might be about to go through the FOX FARM wrestle with death lol.

so no cute remarks this time or bud porn but respond to the post let me know something.

  9. any responses??? some of these threads ppl respond to are bullshit any comments on a real troubled grow????

PS did some clipping tonight, pics tomorrow

  10. Hey Gonejah

I've started my first grow just 2 weeks ago, so our plants are pretty much the same age and we have the same experience.

My plants comparing to yours grew much taller and a few fell off, but thats because my CFLs are we're a little high, now i've brought them closer. Pics soon.

I do think you are stressing too much... I think i'm stressing but when I read your posts I see i'm no where near you :) Just let them grow man, they will. I was worried about ferts and nutes but the more I read the guides the more I realized plants this age are way more likely to be overfed they barely need any ferts at this stage.

Good luck with the plants, Its fun to see how seriously your taking this. I think I should pick names for my plants too :hello:

  11. If the new growth is yellowing, it is either over-fert or ph, or both. I had the same problem my first grow. Lower the nutes and put the ph in the proper range, worked for me. I thought I had a low ph but I was actually over-nuting- which is most likely your problem.

Try to keep it simple, I went all out and all I have to say is keep it simple. I wish I would have much sooner.

  12. Well the new ones look good, nice and green. The others should be flushed each time they are dried up. Hopefully they make it. A transplant to soil with no nutes might be in order.

  13. My new leaves are always lighter, but not like that. Get rid of the plastic wrap unless you are cloning. The light should be 3-4 inches if no air flow, 1-2 with a fan(pc fans don't count). Water when the cups feel light. No ferts for 1 month ( I do use a 1/8 liquid karma). Calibrate your meters every other time you use them. Let tap water site for 24+ hours before you use it. That should cover it.

    What is your soil mix?

The pics are two sprouts, both 14 days from germination, or 9 days with their heads out of the ground. The smaller of the two is a twin. Both twins are about that size. There are 2 26W CFLs above them. I use 75% fox farm ocean and 25% perlite with a pinch of worm castings.

  14. WOW!!!!! Thanks for all the responses, advice, information, and good vibes!!!! all u guys are the shit for real lol.

Umm, dont want to ignore anyone's posts . . . . First off I'm NOT NUTING!!! HAVENT AT ALL!!! Believe it or not (hard to tell I know lol) I read up on this before starting, so I know not to give them any nutes for about a month. All I have done to these plants is put them in soil, water them (too much at first on the first round) and give them 24/7 light. I DIDNT put pearlite or any extra draining substances in there with the soil, and Ive been thinking this has added to the problem of initial overwatering since FF claims to stay saturated longer in order to "save water". I didnt read that at first and thought there was sufficient drainage with the FF. So not using pearlite was a big mistake I think. Next time.

I KNOW Im stressing a lot for little seedlings but for just putting them in soil and watering them the way they are reacting something IS wrong with my method and I just want to know for next time. Looking around at the other posts I KNOW I have a problem. And Im saving some bomb seeds untill I figure it out. By that time I should have my HID and be ready to really get into some horticulture. lol. Next time.

Also, I think Fox Farm is NOT a good soil for seedlings. I know it works great for others, but for me I think im going to at least try a different route. After all my research, I know the seeds have enough to sustain themselves with just water in a nutrient free growing medium for a while. So Im going to find said medium and grow my seedlings in that for a little bit and then transplant them into FF.

What is that soil u speak of???? Just store brand nutrient free potting soil? Next time.

Allright, nuff said Im sure, heres the update . . . . .

Put Perky under a 125W CFL by herself to see what she does. This is partly for experimentation with CFLs and also because I realize I only have space for 4 large plants in my setup and perky is the slowest grower and therefore the #1 candidate for decapitation. Of course, Ill try to wait to see sex. Well see they might all make it. I have 5 now.

    Perky under the CFL
    [IMG]

And some more of perky. The last one isnt the most flattering lol. She's yellowing a little but I guess all my plants live in some elusive yellow submarine or some shit. As long as they give me chronic. Lots of chronic.

Here's Legs. Looking Like some strawberry cough or something lol. Few things. I transplanted her yesterday into a large (1 1/2-2 gallon) "perfect pot". Transplant went pretty well and shes still standing proud. Roots were doubled up at the bottom of the dixie cup. Roots were kinda shady looking. I'll get pics of the pot later I know I should have just not much space to maneuver. And I know shes got that brown tip (!*&%^&$) but she had it before the transplant. I dont know - she looks pretty but she looks fucked up too. I did some clipping on her AND on DIVA. I believe once I get everything right my seedlings will be "Fuckin A Bitchrod" lol. someday.

And here's Diva. She had some major manicuring done. Not sure what those strings on her are I just noticed them in the pic. She's looking ok though yeah? Just yellow like the rest. Im going to transplant her this week I think. COMMENTS???

And here's the SADHU sprout. My girl is raising the two sprouts as her own and she's dubbed this one "Stunner". Its looking strong and healthy but looks like its going for a little trip in the yellow sub as well. Ive only watered this plant ONE time. It HAS to be the FF soil. I think it is stunting the growth too. Ill raise my seedlings in some non-nuted soil from now on. Live and Learn.

And heres "Shorty" the other sprout my girl has named and claimed as her own lol. It was drooping a little bit so I positioned it so that its getting a lot of air flow now (btw in addition to my pc fans I also have 2 large fans blowing air into the room) and its developing a strong stem. I hope lol. Yellow though. Yellow is my new least favorite color.

SO THATS THE PIC UPDATE. thank you so much for all your advice. I hope I responded to everyones questions if not just ask me again or find me somewhere out on the street and hit me with a rock. though Id prefer the former.

Here are some pics of some Weed Ive been smoking. WOO HOO!!!!!

Some Gods Gift. Been a fav strain of mine for a while. Supposedly OG x GDP. I believe it. Its got the hint of the Grand Daddy taste and the stone of the OG. Yessr thats the way I like it. Last nug here. Can u tell how dense it is??? Dank.

And some 818 Kush. Pretty bomb tho not as good as the GODS GIFT. this shit looks better than it smokes. but its still some fire. Damn look at me talkin shit about that beautiful bud. Back in the day all I could find was scraped resin and backyard boogie. I need to maintain perspective. lol allright yo peace and love.

hit me with comments i love it.

PS. psionblue - plants look great!!!!!!!! cant wait to follow the grow, u posting a thread?!?!?!?

  15. Yes, I mean transplanting into nute free, generic potting soil. If you put them under 18/6 light, they might start to grow a little faster. Too early for 1.5 gallon transplants but, to late now; it will only keep growth slow. Going 18/6 should speed it up.

  16. Ive been readin contradicting trains of thoughts on this. Are u sure this will help the growth rate?? I thought it might be early to transplant but when i did the roots were definitely longer than the cup so . . . I dunno, thats y i only transplanted one wanted to see how it would do. Perky seems to like the CFL. and I seem to really like that gods gift. let u know whats up manana.

PS VTEC read ur LED thread, shits awesome man wish I could get down with some LEDs. Definitely seems like it might be the future, huh??

  17. Yes the general consensus by advanced growers is that 18/6 is best for growth and energy savings.

  18. ill try 18/6. I dont have to worry about light leaks at this stage right?? that is, there's no harm in them getting a little light in their dark period during veg is there???

  19. Right, light leaks don't make a difference too much during veg; it is flower that leaks can screw them up.

  20. Started 18/6, or technically 6/18, last night with 6 hours of darkness starting around 11 pm. Swear to god I checked out the buggers this morning and they seemed to have grown!! An optical illusion im sure, but hey I still like what I see lol.

My girl has the camera but as soon as I get it I will post more pics. Perky seems to be liking the CFL and Legs gave me a little flack with the transplant (that brown leaf is curling up) but I think shes doing ok. Diva is slowly growing her new set and the sprouts seem cool, Stunner looking healthier than Shorty.

I WANT TO DO SOME LST sometime this grow but I also want to find a mother. Dierwolf says to start LST after the 3rd set of true leaves. I think Im almost there, it just doesnt look like it cuz I clipped certain leaf sets. But the plants arent tall enough to LST right??? I just dont want to wait too long and have the stem get too tough. AND ALL IN ALL I MIGHT NOT LST I MIGHT JUST FIND A MOTHER AND DO SOME CLONES FOR RIGHT NOW. I DONT KNOW - ANY SUGGESTIONS?? PICS SOON.

PS got some ChemDog the shit is nasty dank!!! Apparently its the sativa side of OG kush, which is 75% indica 25% sativa I hear. Learn somehting new every day. Any way this is the kushiest sativa Ive smoked, wish I had pics but no camera :confused:

K yall thanks for the responses. more soon.
