Im curious if anyone here has tried absinthe? If you dont know what it is, this thread dosent apply , but yah its this type of alcohol made with wormwood (??) i think not too sure. But anways its supposed to give you mild hallucinations. Im going to the UK sometime soon and was wondering if its worth a shot. i've read some stuff on erowid.org but i wanted to get some insight from the GC crew.
the stuff sold in the shops does NOT make you hallucinate... im sure you can get the proper stuff from somewhere..... bet ull have a hell of a hangover afta drinking it.
havent tried it yet myself, dont have the money for the fuckers! but a few of my friends have tried the czech absinthe that they got from here, so there ya go man. it'll probably have product reviews and stuff as well
yeah its one of the oldest ways to get a nice buzz from alcohol, mind you my friends makes it for us id have to ask him how he does it but what you said sounds familure so yeah it does work and from what I understand its only real if its green Iv never seen shit off it but I sure was buzzin REALLY nice it was bliss
I've made a "throjone hash" check it out on www.erowid.com under wormwood. Baiscally my friend and I ordered a pound of wormwood off of iamshaman.com and made the extract according to erowid.com and smoked it ontop of our pot. Its very similar to a pot high--but a little bit more psycadelic. NOTE: Throjone is the psycoative chemical found in wormwood--and wormwood is what makes absinth.
Meh, mild hallucinations don't seem that great. Just do some shrooms if you wanna hallucinate, or smoke some salvia.

i bought a couple bottles of czech absinthe. it tastes like super-duper black licorice. i could hardly hold the shit down, it was quite shitty tasting, i mixed it with root beer and it tasted a little less like ass, but still pretty bad. couldnt drink straight root beer for a while after, cuz it tasted like absinthe to me. it still makes me shudder thinking about it. i've never done it, but to "activate" the hallucinogenic shit in it you're supposed to use an absinthe spoon to torch some sugar cubes soaked in absinthe then stir in in there. seems like too much work and money for the high you get, smoke a bowl...its easier.
it's supposed to taste amazingly bitter from what i've read about it. and there are a bunch of ways to drink it, the fire thing with the spoon is prolly one of the most common (you need "special" spoons too lol). you can mix it w/other drinks n stuff too. i've actually been considering getting a bottle myself lately, but i live in the states so it's hard to get real stuff. it's hella expensive to get a real botle from europe, like $100 or so total i think. if u do try it let us know how it goes. i'd like to know
try czechabsinth.com, i bought my stuff there, it was only $65 for a .7L bottle. it was quality stuff too. unless they changed their policy since last year, they do ship stateside, i got it mailed to my dorm mailbox. the dumb chick working the mailroom when i picked it up shook the package and asked if it was fish, umm yup...fish. fish that get you fucked up good.
A friend brewed some of his own with all the spices and everything in Vodka. Smells like black liquorice. I have yet to try a glass, I'm not much a drinker myself.

me and my friend just ordered a bottle from sweden. it was a 100 freakin bucks! but it's supposed to be the real deal. none of that knock-off sh*t. we even shelled out another 20 bucks for an actual absinthe spoon. it should be here by christmas. i've never had true absinthe before. i once had something they said was absinthe in mexico, but it turned out to be bullsh*t. i'll post the results after we try it.
