While on Youtube I found a ridiculous stash of anti-weed ads posted by a user identified as "The Office of National Drug Control Policy." Here they are. The ads offer no rational argument against smoking pot, instead they just try to associate it with bad things. "If you smoke weed," it suggests, "you will either make bad choices or you will altogether lose your ability to choose. You will become a stupid, weak person. In fact, you are a stupid, weak person, for even trying weed. Don't listen to your friends." The videos play mercilessly on teenage insecurities, suggesting that marijuana undermines meaningful friendship. It tells us, paradoxically, not to listen to our friends who smoke because if we do we will lose friends. Simply incredible. The ratings on these clips are so low that the ONDCP disabled them. Hopefully they won't take them down; I want to watch them when I'm high.
I like the one where the little boy is walking by and his brother is like "HEY WANT SOME SMOKE" and the 6 year old is like "NAH THE ONLY THING I SMOKE IS FOOLS LIKE YOU ON THE BASKETBALL COURT"
This is from the "Whatever" above the influence video "I pick where we eat so they won't have to worry about choosin' a place." Sorry, but what pot smoker has a PROBLEM finding a place to eat when theyre high? "But basically, they don't have to worry about living life -- I'll live it for 'em. Until I go to college, then ya'll somebody else's problem. " Guess what? Theres gonna be even more potheads at college. Hell I didnt even start smokin til I got to college.
Thats hilarious im so glad these videos are up there but what i really wanna see is the anti drug commercials from like 5 years ago. I hope someone uploads those.
They should just give scruffy old stoners like myself like a minute to talk on national television. I'll sort these young people out. P.S. watching these videos inspired me to turn on some Marley, smoke a bowl and laugh at the DEA. Thanks for all your hard work and keeping our streets clean!
