Above the Influence Ads

  1. I know this sounds wierd, but I kinda like the background music of the above the influence commercials (animated ones). Just the music. What do you think?

Otherwise those ads are kinda of stupid and have no basis.;)

Is it possible that they use that music to attract people who smoke pot to listen(well at least I liked the music)? lol.

  2. I love the new commercials. I swear that stoners made those.

  3. Yah, every anti-pot commercial I see these days are hilarious. They are trying to make people feel bad about getting high, but dude...when you're high, it just makes you laugh your ass off, and then take another bong rip. :) :bongin:

  4. I'm sure they did. One of my teachers worked as a freelance jingle artist during the 80s, and while working on a Bud Dry ad, he was hired to write music for the "Just Say No" campaign. He told us that the only way they stayed up during the day was by snorting large amounts of cocaine. I doubt the process is any different today :smoking:

  5. what's up with the one where the boy is sitting buy himself smoking a joint and says "i feel bad when i smoke pot. but if i do it with someone else i'll feel less bad" than he offers it to his dog, but his dog rejects it and walks away. the dog then walks into the yard and raises a flag with a picture of himelf. i mean, wtf?

but i was totally thinking the same thing about the music: the musicians playing it had definitely smoked weed at least at some point in their lives. so it was kinda ironic they are promoting shit against cannabis.

  6. ^^^ haha thats my favorite of all of them.

  7. i just saw that one. i think it was during adult swim.

  8. Before anti pot adds were full of shit and just made me want to try it to piss them off.
Now anti pot adds make me want to light up a joint for that added enjoyment.

I laughed at the old ones for the reefer madness factor
I laugh at the new ones because in their attempts to "be cool" they are somehow sending a "smoke weed kid it's good for you!" vibe.

Either way they aren't doing shit else but making people want to smoke weed lol

When they gave up trying to demonize because no one was buying the bullshit they weren't really left with much to work with.

  9. i think it's time we infiltrate the partership for a drug free america organization (they are the ones responsible for freevibe and above the influence if i'm not mistaken) and make a commercial so ridiculous it will serioulsy hurt their credibility.

  10. Yea i just saw one of those commercials this morning and thought that they did have some stoner music on there.:smoking:

  11. I remember an add when i was a kid it was random people saying what they want to be when they grow up one was a ballerina a fireman a cop and one was a guy saying he wanted to be a junkie. all that did was when people asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up i said i wanted to be a junkie not knowing what it meant. now i think back and i think the government made me a pot head

  12. dude, my MOM, who until recently was vehemently anti-pot (i wore her down. woot.) said after watching the one with the alien, "whoever made that commercial must've been stoned." I laughed my ass off. Sitting is a definite problem now.

the music on those things is GOOD. me likey.

  13. haha i like the music too, and a lot of the time when its late and im smoking in my room to help me sleep at least one ad will come on out of the blue and a smile always comes across my face.
