Currently Waiting on my easy ryder and purple ryder(purple gems) auto seeds. I will be using a 3.5 gallon bucket with 2 airstones, hydroton for medium and advance nutes.. I also will be using a Sun System 150 watt bulb= 16,000 lumens.. And I believe im goin to start off with one plant my first go round My question is about the seedling stage.. Ive read that autoflower seeds dont like to be transplanted so what exactly should I do after I germinate them. Should I a. put the seedling in to the dwc. or b. put the seed in rockwool and put the rockwool in the dwc when seedling gets roots? Help me out family!!
Im not an expert just finishing my second grow. putting them in the rockwool first is most likely better. soak the rockwool and make sure its soaked. than i put the seedlings in and put it in a Tupperware container with a clear bag over it and put it under the light untill it grows a little. Than you can transplant. it works for me but there might be something better.
that what i thought i was gonna have to do it that way.. so are you suggesting i take the seedling out the rockwool? or juz transplant the rockwool in my dwc?
I've been reading about some growers sending their plants into 12/12 for the start, asuming they are female. I would put the seed into rockwool(rapid rooter) and start a 12/12 after the plant sprouts.
Since its autoflower there is no need for a 12/12. I heard the best time would be 20 hours light and 4 hours dark. I tried them for my first grow outside(my dad didnt want me to grow indoors) they turned out smaller and did not yield as much as it should have. so longer light the better with auto flowers.
I personally just put my seeds straight into the hydroton. I've done it like that for 2 grows and eveything has went fine . I place my seed into the hydroton mist with spray bottle and cover with plastic wrap. This traps humidity and helps create an ideal enviroment for the seed to germinate and sprout . Once you see the sprout make it to the surface it is now time to remove the plastic. I have a grow journal going right now to. The green-o-matic and snow ryder one . Maybe you'll get some useful info there . Goodluck. I'll be coming back to see your gems. I'm curious about how your strains turn out
Maybe someone here can comment on WHEN to switch your autoflowering plants from veg to bloom nutes... I've searched the forum for quite awhile so far without finding that info (maybe I'm dense?). Based on the date of this posting, I would imagine that kooguy22 has long since made the switch and is close to completion? Thanks for any info!
no experience with autoflowers, but i put my own unrooted clones into a rockwool cube and then directly into the bubbler (just put one layer of hydroton on the bottom of the mesh pot, cube around the middle then surround and cover in hydroton). bubbler is amazing at growing roots. if the water level is raised just a little (to around the bottom of the mesh pot), the cube will stay moist and after about a week you'll have roots popping out. then just lower the water level to around an inch below the pot and watch the roots stretch and grow like crazy! i've had 100% success rate so far with this method and i don't even use rooting hormones, just 100% pure honey does the trick (granted, rooting hormones may quicken the process).
Hey buddy, can u share ur honey method, coz I'm on this stage right now and very interested about with what to feed my girl in my first rez. And she has tri sets seedlings :0
