It will no longer be tolerated. If you cannot discuss things of this nature without being disrespectful, or calling names, then DO NOT post in this forum. Is that easy enough to understand? Name-calling and disrespect are against the rules at GC. For a good while we\'ve been more lenient with the rules in the S&P section - as we understand that the discussions are very close to people\'s hearts/minds... But no longer. The same rules apply back here as do in all the other forums... So if you\'re going to post here, remember, no name calling, and no being disrespectful. If the person who starts a thread is starting a thread about flying spaghetti monsters, then so be it. It is not your duty to inform everyone on these boards that they\'re ignorant, wrong, whatever. This is a respectful community, and if you cannot be respectful then you will find yourself not welcome here. There\'s nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone - there is something wrong with being disrespectful about HOW you disagree.
For the sake of the S&P section, I\'d like to reiterate what Cotton\'s posted. This should be a knowledgeable and insightful forum where many can come to reflect on life, to share, to learn, to invoke thought, to invoke change and to accept change. However, I see more hate than tolerance in this forum. It\'s sad that a forum with such potential weighs the heaviest when it comes to hate, intolerance and disrespect. There will be no warnings in the future. You\'ve all read the rules of Grasscity and should know what\'s cool and what\'s not. If you haven\'t read them, I just so happen to have a link to them as my signature.
*bump* We\'ve had a lot of complaints about some members pretty much running other members away from the City simply because they don\'t agree with the beliefs of others. We\'ll sacrifice some for the City, if need be. The City is here for everyone, not just a specific group. The Mods and I discussed a possible closure of the S&P forum due to this issue and are all in agreement that we will do it if need be. However, I think the better choice would be temporary bans/permanent bans for those who are on a quest to consistently disrespect others. It really doesn\'t matter how long you\'ve been here, how many green bars you have or who follows you...everyone needs to respect one another and follow the rules of the City. I\'d just like to add that this is a SPIRITUALITY AND PHILOSOPHY forum... There will be threads having to do with BOTH philosophical beliefs as well as spiritual beliefs. If you find yourself in disagreement, do so RESPECTFULLY -- not in a condescending, disrespectful, etc. way. In this forum especially, there will be threads that may challenge your core beliefs -- if you are unable to deal with this in a mature, respectful manner, please refrain from posting.
