About Curing

  1. I'm a new prospective MM grower and want anyone's input on curing. People tell me the best stuff I've ever used was probably cured after drying and that this is the difference between good stuff and great stuff.

    Do you agree?

If so, how do you cure?

Do you expect your grower to cure it before selling or do you cure the herb after you get it?

    Peace.

  2. Curing is sealing the Cannabis in a Mason Jar for an extended period of time, this increases potency. Make sure to air it out occasionally so it doesn't mold.

I suggest you take all future growing questions to the growing section.

  3. Thank you. I looked for a growing section but did not see it. I'll look again.

  4. Look in the Harvesting and Processing section.

  5. from what I read, the sealing in the jar allows the moisture on the inner most part of the bud to dry evenly, and also converts all the THC into it's psychoactive state (whatever that means) I dried mine in a dark area with 40-45% humidity for 5 days, then put it in mason jars and opened the jars 2-3x a day for about 5-10 min. each time. I'm telling you it's made a HUGE difference, the resin is really sticky now, but the bud isn't moist.

I agree with the above poster, you can make some avg. weed REALLY good with curing, it also makes the smoke less harsh, and even sweet if done long enough. just want to watch for mold. that's why you "burp" the jars, to let the moisture out.

  6. Curing does not affect potency, it affects final taste.

There's a whole section here at GC about harvesting and curing.

Next time, try searching for threads with the word "cure" or "curing" in the title, amazing things will happen...
