  1. I know its Lincoln, but this does have relevancy in today's world.

I'd say his prediction came true.:(

  2. A good one:

  3. fuck. Even all the way back then, they could see what was forming.

    fuck.

  4. Damn, if he's talking about power of corportations in the 1860's, his prediction probably came true 10-fold of what he thought it would be.

  5. He's just sampling an old Thomas Jefferson rhyme from the sea:

"If the American people ever allow private banks
to control the issue of their money,
first by inflation and then by deflation,
the banks and corporations that will
grow up around them (around the banks),
will deprive the people of their property
until their children will wake up homeless
on the continent their fathers conquered."

    or John Adams:

"All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise, not from defects of the Constitution or Confederation; not from any want of honor or virtue, as much as downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation."

  6. Snopes claims that Jefferson never said that.

  7. Way to completely ignore the topic.

Garrison, I was just wondering due to the 10+ threads I've seen you endorsing the wars in the middle east, do you still endorse them or do you take that back?

  8. Ye can never trust what ye hear from the sea. ARrrrr.

"I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale."

  9. "Did you just say Abe Lincoln or hey Blinken?":smoking:

  10. And to think Ole Abe was the president during during the end of slavery and even signed in the emancipation proclamation. And from that lawyers would deem a corporation is a person and should be given certain legal rights.
