As the title says I spotted some mold on the outside of my peatpots. What can I do to get rid of this and to prevent this from happening again?
I just removed the pots and put the plants into new ones. I did discover that there isn't much rooting going on inside the pots. How can I stimulate that?
are you using a rooting hormone? is not, get some (olivias is good), if so, then probably just need to keep the roots warmer and moist (no soaked)...
I'm not using any rooting hormone, perhaps it is a good idea to get some. I noticed when I changed the pots the soil was actually very dry, so I gave them a good splash of water after re-potting them. I checked them out this morning and they are fine, no sign of stress from re-potting at all. I also gave them some nutes yesterday when I watered them well. I'm using Bio Nova Supermix for soil, I was adviced that it's a good brand.
I bought some coconutpeat based soil today, I read that that is good soil for getting strong roots. It's very light stuff so it will allow oxygen to penetrate to the roots. I couldn't find what PH level it has, so if anyone knows.....
