AAAAHHHH... moldy peatpots

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Misty, Mar 15, 2005.

  1. As the title says I spotted some mold on the outside of my peatpots.
What can I do to get rid of this and to prevent this from happening again?

  2. I just removed the pots and put the plants into new ones.
I did discover that there isn't much rooting going on inside the pots.
    How can I stimulate that?

  3. are you using a rooting hormone? is not, get some (olivias is good), if so, then probably just need to keep the roots warmer and moist (no soaked)...

    :hippie:

  4. I'm not using any rooting hormone, perhaps it is a good idea to get some.
I noticed when I changed the pots the soil was actually very dry, so I gave them a good splash of water after re-potting them.
I checked them out this morning and they are fine, no sign of stress from re-potting at all. I also gave them some nutes yesterday when I watered them well.
I'm using Bio Nova Supermix for soil, I was adviced that it's a good brand.

  5. I bought some coconutpeat based soil today, I read that that is good soil for getting strong roots.
It's very light stuff so it will allow oxygen to penetrate to the roots.
I couldn't find what PH level it has, so if anyone knows.....
