  2. Jesus advocated public control of the means of production?
  3. What a terrible song. Not because I think the guys message is wrong, but because it just plain sucks.

Now more to the point. I would say that Jesus was a hardcore individualist. He reminded people that they should "in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you" (Matt. 7:12). He reminded people in Luke 6:36-38 that we should be merciful, giving and to not judge people because the judgment we render will be render to us as well. In Matthew 10:14 Jesus told his disciples to "shake the dust" from their feet if people do not want to listen to them. He told his disciples that those who "take up the sword will perish by the sword" (Matt. 26:52). Throughout the Gospels Jesus teaches compassion and love, as well as charity and thrift. He speaks out against violence and preaches tolerance. All of those things are squarely against the very principles of socialism.
  4. That's because scarcity didn't exist for Christ.

So as soon as another Socialist figures that problem out . . .
  5. Scarcity has always existed. There are always a finite amount of goods in the market whether that market is primitive like in Jesus' day or complex like in ours.
  6. I think Jesus may have been an anarchist, instead...
  7. It's 2010, about time for people to start rejecting sky daddies en masse.
  8. To the contrary, I assert that Jesus was a race-car driver...

But seriously, Jesus may have been an anarchist, socialist, fascist or whatever else, but the one thing that he WASN'T was on the side of the rich - we all know that 'It is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to go to heaven' quote, we know how he made his disciples give away everything they owned (redistribution of wealth if I ever saw it...), that he never opened a business to sell his healing wares etc... :p

More to the point, he could of been anything but I find it very hard or even impossible to believe he supported capitalism - how can you support capitalism without supporting wealth?

Above all, Kylesa hit the nail on the head - who gives a flying fuck what Jesus or anyone else supposedly believed in, follow your own mind, reason and intellect and not someone elses
  9. drove so god-damn fast. Never did win no checkered flag, but he never did come in last.:D

Jesus was also a gay pedophile. True story.
  10. Hey, that was a fun sing-a-long!

Now how about one for Irish Republicans?

  11. Well, I was this yesterday and listened to the whole song, then in the shower this morning what do I find myself humming? "Jesus was a socialist, don't you know?". . . It is going to be stuck in my head all day, I just know it.

  12. So I should give everyone blow jobs?
  13. Look around.....you sure you want EVERYONE to blow you? Theres some nasty looking mother fuckers out there.
