A scanner darkly commercial

    just saw a commercial on this movie for the second time, and i was just curious, who here thinks this movie isn't meant to be seen baked?

    From the commercials, no sober person would probably wanna see this, but stoned it's probably the coolest shit ever.

    And, i saw one other thread on this, but last post was from last year, so didn't wanna revive it :p

    I was stoned when i say that commercial and it still looked pretty stupid.

    I'm sick of keanu reeves. The only worthwhile movies he has ever made was Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Matrix.

    keanu reeves ain't so bad, and you forgot the devil's advocate :p

    But, i was semi-baked when i first saw the commercials, and it looked pretty trippy

    Oh c'mon the only reason that movie was good was because of Al Pacino.

    This movie is going to be amazing. Its not like Keanu Reaves wrote it he only stars in it. The book and premise is amazing. I would totally try D or whatever that drug was called. Plus Woody Harrelson and Robert Downy Jr. (SNORT SNORT) will save the movie.

    I was disappointed when I found out Keanu was in it, he seems so...bland.

    But Richard Linklater is a genius. Dazed and Confused, Waking Life, Slacker, Before Sunset/Sunrise. All of them incredible.

    The movie's about drugs too, but not exactly in a positive light.

    I have to drive into DC to watch it though, only has a limited release, which kind of sucks.

    Oh and by the way, Woody Harrelson and Robert Downey Jr. are awesome.

    fuckin shit.. this movie only has limited release..its not playing everywher.. god dam ill hav to find somweher here in Mass... probly Worcester or Boston has to hav it...

    The book by Phillip K Dick is insane, he's the guy who wrote "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" which was later turned into Blade runner. Other movies that are based off his books include Minority report and Total Recall. He's one of my favorite authors (though you probably figured that out by now)
    he was huge into drugs too (he started writing books in the late fifties) and if i'm not mistaken this is his view on what would happen if drugs like acid got out of controll in the future.

    Oh yah, this movie looks pretty sick..I seen the preview, looks like its a pure stoner movie.

    I would hope that the story would be kept intact from the book, being a huge fan of PKD as well, but I have a feeling that the only thing I'm going to enjoy is the animation process even though its not new anymore. Linklater is awesome but keanu is just going to fuck it up.

    I cant stand the movies where they film it then an artist goes over all the frames to give it that cartoony look. I dont like the way it looks and how it presents the story
