A question about ac hoods

    Will a ac hood with a piece of glass in front of it take a ton of light away? I'm using 2 1000watt hps in a 12x4x7 room and don't want to lose a bunch of power. Thanks.

    9% I think, might be 7 but there is some loss.

    It's still cheaper than paying street prices.

    lol. Ya i heard 20-25%, if it's only 10-7% then that shouldn't be a big deal. I figure with the 1000 watters it should be okay.

    The ease of heat control that a closed hood provides, makes up for any reduction in lumens. I'm guessing its definitely not anywhere near 20%+. Maybe someone with a light meter can chime in, I'm interested now.
