  1. A spiraling haze envelopes your body,
As you float away from me.
    Spinning, ever slightly,
Like an autumn leaf in the wind.
    The colors shift and change
    Is it red?
    Or is it purple?
    I never can tell.
Still, even after all this time.
Your hair is slowly flowing, in a slow motion day dream,
As I stare out the side of this trainwreck on wheels.
It's been so long, could this be real?
A person with whom I can be real,
I can be myself, and that's all you'll ever ask,
    All you'll ever need.
Let me please, let me be,
Let me hold you once again,
Let me love you once more my friend.
I know I can if I really truly tried.
The time was spent not in silent tears,
But in loving memory of those better years.
    How that time passed…
    Slowly but surely,
    Surely and slowly,
    Rolling on as a train,
Headed for the sunlit coast, never to stop again
    In these dark, gloomy parts.
Gone away from me once more, like the leaf,
    Slowly spinning.
    Is it red?
    Or is it purple?

  2. Very nice, very cool and deep.

  3. Thanks. I wrote it with my eyes closed with "Faust Arp" playing...off of Radiohead's new album In Rainbows. Interesting stuff to say the least.
