If it would have been an independent test, I'd be a little more impressed but considering it looks like Advanced Nutrients produced it, I'm a little unsure. Plus they didn't even test Fox Farm
simply making a video with techno music that shows a couple of numbers demonstrating their nutrients yielded more bud and greater percentage of THC is meaningless. i could make the same video. i want to see how they did the 'tests'. they didn't even say if they used clones from the same mother plant to do the test, which is a cruicial. were all nutrients given at manufacture's recommended dose? how many plants were used per nutrient, and why didn't they report yield per plant (with errors), or yield per watt? i mean i could go on and on with all the different variables associated with this experiment. if done properly one could control all those variables, at least to a reasonable approximation, but the video doesn't demonstrate any of that. unfortunately, this makes the video 100% meaningless. and above all, the company that did the study just so happened to make the nutrients that performed the best... i call bullshit. not saying they make a bad product, but the video is bogus in my opinion.
someone got paid to promote advanced nutrients they didnt really have much compution no Fox Farm, Flora Nova or shultz but it would be cool to see a real nutes contest 10 of the same clones each and away they go and the only thing different would be the nutrients. high times or something like that would have to sponsor it i just smoked so i might be rambling anyways cool video just unbelivable
I've done a few side by side tests of the major manufacturer's products (hydro) and never see more than minimal differences. Let's face it folks, it doesn't make any difference which company you give your money to.
Depends on the product, all are in different concentrations. I recommend you start with 1/4 of the recommended strength for vegetative growth when the first set of true leaves (serrated) appear. You will need to increase the strength over the coming days but by how much will depend on your environment, particularly your lighting. If you are using fluroescent lighting, work your way up to 2/3 strength recommended strength. More than that may cause nutrient burn. Watch the tops of your plants for first signs. If using HIDs then you'll want to use full strength nutrients.
The pro is Advanced Nutrients, so may I ask what makes them pros when it comes to growing cannabis? I would trust this if a true breeder or well known professional grower was stating this, but it is just another nutrient co. trying to sell it's product IMHO. The overall view of most well experienced growers is that most nutrient lines are the same, difference is concentrations, and that the results pretty much are the same. In the past 30 yrs I have used a large majority of what is out there, it all works the same and gives the same results. less
Well advanced nutrients is one of the only companies that produces and tests their products exclusively for cannabis. Either way, you couldn't go wrong with even an off brand, nutrients are nutrients.
First, you need so little in the way of nutrient augmentation, it is a minor topic in the growing of this plant. Cannabis produces well in good soil without any added nutrients. Second, are you really going to buy $150 worth of chemicals? Seriously. I have a bridge to sell you. Third, this is an advertisement, people. No data was provided at all and the winner made the film. All the more reason not to trust this garbage- any of it!- or the people pushing it. Now, after seeing this, I will never buy this line of products, just on principle. They are playing you for suckers. Just sayin'. gm

I do not need a video or hyped up claims to know better. I have used AN, as well as most of the nutrients out there. I personally like Ionic and Botanicare b/c of the concentrations and you can go 1/4 - 1/2 dose and get great results. Most are good and work well. I have done it without using nutes as well, however I always have found that most nutes give you better results in the end. Cal/Mag makes a huge difference IMO and I believe my plants show this. They remain a healthy green all the way until the last week or so of my final flush when the leaves begin to yellow from using up every bit of energy and nutes available. Remember, nutes are much like the seed companies, they will get you to buy miracles. The bottom line is a grower must have a good sense of judgement, possess a love for the plant, and the desire to constantly learn and gain experience. less
What kind of nutrients would you guys recommend for hydro? Im out of nutes and i need to go buy more, but the nutes i have are kinda crap, and i want to get the absolute best nutrients available... What does everybody suggest? And what do u guys use? I tried making a post to get some suggestions but its been like 3 days and nobody has replied!
