A little skeptical about weed now.

  1. two nights ago me and a friend were smoking on my couch watching Tv. We smoked a blunt that was no more bud then we usually smoke. After about 15 minutes he started to really panic and get nervous. He asked me what was going on and started holding his head. He complained that he felt funny and was having a bad high so I told him close his eyes for a few minutes and sit back. I continued to watch the teli for about 5 minutes when I saw he had fallen over. I tried to wake up him up but he didn't budge. I shook him violently for about 30 seconds and he still didn't wake up. Finally he slowly opened his eyes and said what's up very calmly. I've been a little scared to mess with bud for the last few days, I haven't had a bad high in months. Has anyone heard of this before? What could have caused this.
     
  2. You should not be scared of that happening. Usually, it's the person itself that kind of makes it happen. If you start getting paranoid, it will just be worst.

    The moment you start getting paranoid or badtrippin', you have to tell yourself it's just the weed making you paranoid and that everything is cool. Don't start thinking you will die or anything because that is not what will happen.

    In those moments, start thinking about something else.

  7. This happened to one of my roommates once. For him it was a combination of panic/anxiety and not really having eaten much all day up to that point. Could be the case with your friend? Not staying hydrated can cause some problems too.

  9. Cannabis can percipitate anxiety attacks.

    This does not mean that cannabis causes anxiety, it just can just trigger anxiety that has already accumulated.

    Well, "bad highs" are absolutely the worst marijuana can do to you. It is caused by smoking too much and it's the only symptom of a marijuana "od". Sometimes it's hard to calm yourself down, because you're so high that you're unable to think. Just eat a bunch of sugar in those cases, it should decrease the amount of tch being added all the time to your brain, and you'll descend into a nice, normal high. I've tried it and it works. Otherwise you could just do it "Crank-style" and keep moving. Go for a run, or something.

    When and how does anxiety accumulate?

  12. There is one statement that I have always used to help freinds new to weed stay calm there first time. I tell them "no matter what you are experiencing right now, you will be totally back to normal in 2 hours."

    Blunts are a little harsher and have nicotine as well. I wouldnt worry man. Its paranoia, it happens sometimes. I listen to some nice music and maybe grab a drink for that dry throat and cottonmouth. Dont read too much into the way you are feeling, just enjoy the feeling.   15. In my earlier experiences with pot I got a few bad highs, and I've learned that the following will help prevent or overcome bad highs:

    1. Don't mix marijuana with other drugs.
    Some more experienced people like doing this, but until you know how the drugs will interact and how they will affect your body, you should avoid it. Many people get very dizzy and uncomfortable if they mix marijuana and alcohol, and overdosing on this mix HAS killed people. Remember that marijuana alone has never killed anyone; marijuana and other drugs have.

    2. Eat and stay hydrated.
    Whenever you're having a bad high, it REALLY helps to eat something. For me, foods high in sugar or fat were really effective in leveling me out when I smoked way too fucking much. Drinking a lot of water helped me feel better, too. When you need PHYSICAL RELIEF from a high, this is the best thing to do, along with lying down (see #3).

    3. Chill the fuck out.

    Everyone who has mentioned anxiety and paranoia above is right on. When you start buggin' out, you need to calm down. Take slow, deep breaths, and lie down if you need to- if you're having a headache or the spins, lying down usually helps a lot more than just sitting back. No matter what's going through your head or how shitty you feel, you have to remember that weed has never killed anyone, and whatever is going wrong can probably be attributed to one of the following:

    A) You just smoked way too fucking much.
    B) You're mixing substances you shouldn't.
    C) You were not in the right frame of mind or bodily state to get high.

    If you ever have an experience like this, you can learn from it and know what to change in the future to prevent it from happening again. There's no reason to be skeptical or wary of the substance itself, only how you take it.

  18. I passed out once at a marijuana clinic. But I was at a party earlier in the night and I had been drinking a little but not much. It was crazy. I went with a friend to this club that was open til 2am and we got there and they let you sample the bud before you buy. I was paying for my weed after taking a few hits and everything started getting blurry and I walked to my friend and was like "Shit I don't feel so good." and it sounded like I was saying it in hella slow motion. I knocked out a few seconds later then woke up. And my friend walked over and sat down on the floor and started throwing up. Shit was kind of funny looking back on it. The only thing I could say at the time was.. "Thats that good weed."
     
  19. yeah usually when im high and i close my eyes i head starts to spin faster and faster then my body feels like it goes into shock or something but it feels cool so maybe thats wut happend to your friend and he pased out or something idk
     
  20. ha ha ha ha... that sounds funny as fuck... i would've loved to have been there to see you guys freaking the fuck out lol. No man theres no such thing as a bad high lol. You're thinking of a bad TRIP. This is when you do hallucenogenic drugs like acid, peyote, or psilocibin. I have smoked weed for 7 years and i've never had a bad high.... i just think you guys let it get to you... the mind is a powerful thing and you can trick yourself into believing lots....
