If you have a plant and during the first few days of 12 12 you take it out during it's dark period to look at it in some light for 5 min, will it go hermie Obviously not gonna happen any more, but is there damage done
I dont know if it will go hermie for sure 100% but its definetly not good for the plant. Even a tiny little light leak in the room during the dark will mess it up. It must be dark as dark for 12 hours.
No the conversion from the pr to pfr forms of the phytochromes in the cells takes 3 hours but it only takes an instant of light to convert back to the pr form. By the time it reverts back to pfr your lights will be coming on. Slightly stunts growth but your ok in the long run
