A little help please...

    ok i got some nice seeds here out of a sack and i want to give this a whirl.

    i am planning on using flourescent lights and i am planning on sprouting them in moist paper towels and then putting them in the little biodegradable cups and than bigger pots/buckets


    so now my questions...

    do i have to have a closet or something to grow them in??? why cant i just grow them in a corner of a room???

    how many seeds should i sprout and start with???

    do i control how tall my plants get???

    approx. how long from sprotting to harvesting should i expect???

    are this big fat seeds that i got out of a good sack(not schwag...the sack had about 8 seeds per 8th) suffecient for a first timer???

    is there anyway of approx. knowing how much these plants will yield????

    i have read most of the biggener info sites and these were some questions i had.

    you can grow in the corner of your room, just make sure no light gets in your windows when your plants are supposed to be sleeping... and make sure your room doesnt get too cold for your plants

    5 maybe? i wouldnt start off with too many plants. and some of those seeds are gonna be duds.

    Im pretty sure you do, my plants are nearing a foot tall now... just depends on what kind of fertz / light / when you decide to start flowering i think

    Nope, grow em big, hope for females...

    dont overwater your plants. dont play with the stems too much in the first week or 2. wait 2 weeks to use fertilizer. Put a small fan on your plants after 2 weeks to strengthen the stems.

    does anyone have any more info on the flourscent lights i should use...length, watts, how many of them????

    Alright well for the low budget I'd go with CFLs (compact florecent lights)...They cost the same as 2 regular light bulbs and since they are small and easy to mount for a first timer i would recomend the CFLs. Look for the daylight ones since they are better for veg. If you can afford it then go for floro tubes (2-4 feet long), little more expensive but if ur gonna try growing 5 plants it'll be worth it to get a 4 ft floro tube rather than like 10 Cfls.

    Not sure where you are but around here (Canada) I can get the twin bulb housing with reflector for around 50 bucks and around 10 for the bulbs so 60, and if you wanted 5 (which is alot for a first grow), your looking at 300. Really you would only need 1 or 2, and you could save your money for a HPS for later on. As for wattage normally they are 40watt per bulb and 2 bulbs per fixture so 80 watts. try to get the daylight or cool blue tubes.
