This is my first indoor grow using DWC. Unknown genetics from some bag seed. I use a 2500w (535w actual) Cob led in a 4x4 tent. I have a 6" exhaust. My girls are currently in week 3 of flower and seems to be going well but I'm seeing a little bit of tip burn and some clawing in the lower leaves. Details Floranova bloom nutes 1100-1150ppm. 3mls per gal. Calmag 5mls per gal. Hydroguard PH has been consistent at 5.8 Temp in tent 78 lights on 71 lights off RH stays under 50% Should I back off the nutes a bit maybe 800ppm? Should I run with just PH'd water for a day or two before dropping ppm? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards Rick Sent from my LM-V405 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Thanks great info. I guess my best bet is to drop the PPM to around 800 and see how things look. They have a ways to go so hopefully there's enough time to recover. Thanks again Sent from my LM-V405 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
That's a issue too , it could be a combined amount of dissolved solids making the PPM's that hi OR it could be just one nutrient or mineral making your PPM's that hi A PPM meter doesn't tell which . A nutrient photometer will . but super pricey
I ran them for about 24hrs in just H2O then refilled rez with 750ppm nutes. They look much better now, drinking and taking up nutes normally. Sent from my LM-V405 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I'm on a well out of the tap it runs around 30ppm and PH of 6.2 I adjust and keep PH at 5.6-5.9 Sent from my LM-V405 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Test the run off with a ppm meter... bet that’s it. Bring it down a bit like 500-600. If your giving it 800ish then add the median could be bringing over 2000 and that will give you these issues. The goal is basically this: feed water in between feedings to lower salts within the median keeping the median at low levels allows you to feed the right nutes at the right times according to your schedule. My flower room usually by week three is at 1200 but I water h2o every other feeding so 800 is should be fine once you keep her in check. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I don't have runoff. I'm running a DWC system. Individual 5 gal buckets I check each rez twice daily for ppm and PH and temp. Girls are looking much better this morning just before lights out. I appreciate all the help you and others have provided both in this post and in the forums in general. I've always just thrown a bean in the dirt outside and hoped for the best. Indoor/hydro has a learning curve but I'll get there. Sent from my LM-V405 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
They’re looking good. Glad it’s starting to work out for ya. Not much else I can add right now, but if you’re just starting out in DWC take notes. I keep a notebook of every water change, ppms, ph. How they look and react. I check my buckets daily too, but I don’t write it down unless something is way off. Once you get the hang of DWC I don’t think it’s too bad. Just keep it simple your first couple of runs.
I grow DWC autos. If my ppm (500 scale) gets much above 450 problems result. There is no need to guess, because the following strategy can get you close: Write down ppm, water level, and pH every day. If ppm rises from day to day, then plants are drinking more than eating, so reduce ppm. If ppm falls from day to day, the plants are eating more than drinking, so increase ppm. The ideal situation is when ppm falls a tiny bit from day to day. That allows you to know that plants are eating and drinking just about right.
