Ok hi guys, I have a quick question for you more experienced growers out there. I've been smoking and recently saving my seeds from the last 8 months of bagseed. Now my question is, what is the difference between these seeds: 1. LARGE seeds light in color with no dark spots or strips. Sme are colored camel tan, some are a light pastel green. 2. LARGE seeds dark green/light brown in color, some have black spots some have tiger stripes. 3. Medium sized green/tanish seeds with blk spots or tiger stripes 4. medium DARK colored seeds with black spots, unimpressive compared to above seeds. I will try to get pics up tomorrow if that helps any. The only reason I kept these seeds in the first place was because the weed made a good impression on my and I liked it, or it was the one or two FEW seeds to come from some weed I got at the medical dispensary. Planning on doing a grow with three separate batches, three different eras of smoke to me, I only vaguely remember the last few months and what plethora of smokes ive sampled lol.... It will be a sort of grab bag grow I hope. UPDATE- Here are some pictures. each row is from a different "era" of my smoking history and are random seeds from different bags.
The light green ones usally means immature. The other sold like healthy seeds the only way to check if they are go or not is to try and sprout them. Some people say that markings mean female plants or healthy plants, dank etc most people chalk this up to myth.
Been looking all over the net and cant seem to find a solid reason for the size difference color variation or markings...hmm... I'm still planning on growing them all so I will soon put a first grow journal here on GC, still a month or so away for me to start. I wonder why these seeds look so freakin HUGE!
ok i dont know if that means something but in greece they say you know you got good stuff when it has tiger seeds.(weed in greece always has seeds) that means they are kinda brown with darker strips, like a tiger skin. hope that helps
Black, white, or green seeds are not viable. Brown or grey seeds is what you want. Roll the seed firmly between thumb and forefinger, you don't want any crackling. Otherwise there is nothing you can tell by the outward appearance of the seed. Size, stipes or spots or lack thereof, and shape tell you nothing about the strain, gender, potency, or anything else about the plant that seed will turn into.
