i got done reading "the grow bible" and green does'nt explain about ferts how or when to use them so im a lil confuse with what to do with the ferts.... alright my plant is 2 inches tall can i start using ferts? or how much longer do i wait? do i use flowering ferts when i put in on 12/12? do i use ferts as it says on the box? or do i make it lighter or stronger than what it says to use? do i flush out the blooming ferts by watering with only water? if yes,for how long? last when do i harvest? if you can help out thanks
I guess we read different grow bibles but I'll try and help ya out: 1. For the first 3 weeks of a plants life it usually doesn't need any fertilizer, but after that begin with a good Veging Fert (something with a NPK ratio like 20-20-20) in light doses disolved in water (light being 1/4 or less of the recomended strength) and gradually build your way up. Add the fert every (or every other) time u water the plant. 2. When you change over to the 12/12 light cycle you want to also change to a flowering fert ( something with a NPK ratio like 15-30-15). You don't have to go back to small doses just continue as normal.Add the fert every (or every other) time u water the plant. 3. Always start lower generally 1/4 or less of the recomended strenght and work your way up. 4. In the last week (some do it for 2) you can flush the soil/plant with any pH adjusted water and no fertilizer mixed in, this will help to remove any excess build ups before harvest. 5. There are many ways to tell when to harvest, the average is around 50-60 days of flowering but the only true way to tell when she's ready for the chop is to check the colour of the Trichomes. Heres a link with info on that: http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/1529 Also here is a link that covers just about every topic and covers the FAQ about each: http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/ Hope that helps!
thanks homie that did help alot i got a nother question on the 1/4 or less ferts to use do i use 1/4 of water too, if it says to a gallon do i do 1/4 of the gallon? sorry for the confusion i probably made...
You are going to want 1/4 strength so using 1/4 the suggested amount of fertalizer with 1/4 the amount of water would be pointless, as it leaves you with full strength fert, just simply less of it. What you are going to want to do is read the suggested measurement of fert and cut that in a quarter per a normal measurement of water, or you can mix the suggested amount of fert in 4 times as much water, either way works. For example: If the fertalizer suggests 1 tablespoon per gallon of water, you could do 1 gallon (16 cups) of water with a little less than 1 teaspoon of fertalizer would give you 1/4 strength fert. OR You could mix 1 tablespoon of fertalizer with 4 gallons of water, achieving the same effect. After that, you are going to move to 1/2 strength fert after the first 1/4 strength batch... just do the same thing you did for the 1/4 strength fert, only double the amount of fertalizer you mix into the water: (same example: 1 tbsp. fert for 1 gal. of water) can put in 2 teaspoons of fert per 1 gallon of water OR 1 tablespoon of fertalizer for 2 gallons of water. 1 tbsp. (tablespoon) = 3 tsp. (teaspoon) 1 gal. (gallon) = 16 cups Hope that helps.
lol duh!!!!!! cutting the water to 1/4 would be the same as if i did it how it says lol sorry im kinda real stoned right now lol
lol...don't worry I was stoned when I wrote up all the info for ya, but thanks to Quickbeam for clearing that up!
