A grow gone bad...why?

  1. I dont have any pictures as of yet, but me and a buddy had three almost 3 week sprouts with 180ish watts of CFL. Soil was miracle grow, and the plants werent too hot (78-85degree range). They just one by one shrivelled up and bit it.

This happen to anyone before? I think my buddy was forgetting to water our plants but idk...:(

  2. how sudden was the shrivel up and biting of which you speak? This happened to me in my first grow but it was because I over ferted, bigtime.

  3. Sounds like a watering problem...and if you overdid the miracle grow that can be a problem too. I normally try to stay away from that, and go all organic.

  4. Yes.
This happened to me twice. It was caused by MG with time release fertilizer in the soil. Very bad. Use something other than MG or Scott's Soil.

  5. Sorry I ment a bit. But thanks for the replies about the soil because it is that MG w. time released fert. But honestly I think it was a watering problem mostly, it was at my buddys house and I was busy the weekend and I think he was watering w/ a spray bottle...yeah, the soil was dry for more than half my finger on the side and it just looked starving for water.:(

  6. MG also has terrible drainage. Don't spray the plants or the soil. Water them enough so that plenty of water drains out the bottom of the pots and then don't water it again until the soil is dry all the way down.
