A few questions, lights and tinfoil.

  1. I've read on some sites it would be good to use tinfoil on the walls so that light reflects around the room evenly, however some have said it can burn holes in the leaves...what do you guys think about me using it? I'm going to start growing in a few weeks, in my closet...and I'm wondering if it'd be good to use tinfoil or not, also whats a good + cheap soil I could get a hold of, and how many 13watt fluorescent lights would I need to use? I was thinking 3-6?

Oh and I have a question, am I going to need to use soil nutrients? If so which ones?

Edit: I apologize for not searching, but I felt I had too many questions to search.

  2. My grow box has foil onn all 6 sides and my plants have no holes in them,i also use a 60cfm panaflow fan for the intake and a 100cfm panaflow for internal air moving, useing a DT200 with K probes my internal temps stay around 78~83*f and the plants look like there happy.

  3. Just go with the high gloss white walls, your reflectiveness will be higher. Or put up the bucks and do it right with mylar, but tinfoil is a nogo.

  4. don't use tin foil if your useing hps light hps pruduces alot ov heat and if you use tin foil it's just gonna make it ten times worse aspeshally in small space's

p.s all spelling mastakes are dun on purpose

  5. if u want a good material(mylar) cheap do this... buy emergency blankets, they are in the camping/sporting good sections of most stores like walmart etc... they are 13' x 6' i think... $2.97 a piece... buy 2 or 3...

  6. Well the walls are all already white, so I mean I guess I could stick with that. The lights I have say they're equivalent to a 60watt incandescent bulb...so I'm guessing 4 or 5 of these should do it.
