A few questions about smell proofing

  1. So I'm getting pretty close to throwing The plants into flowering. but im a bit concerned about The smell.
Ive been thinking of investing in a carbon filter but The walls in my growroom at 2 of the corners don't quite come together and it leaves small gaps how badly do you guys think this is going to effect the efficiency of the carbon filter?
If I was to not invest in a carbon filter system would i stink up the outside of my house?
Are there any secrets to making the bud plants stink less?

  2. Some strains stink more than others, but they almost all stink. Try to exhaust gnarly smell out of the house. You can scrub the air in the room with a big carbon can and fan in the middle of the room.

Then, try to cover the smell where people would enter the house. If they dont smell it right away when they walk in, they will acclomate to it and not notice. I have an ona gel up on a shelf, a motion detected air freshner dispensor hidden in the coat rack that sprays when the door is opened, and a ozone gen in the hall a little further down the hall.

It sounds like youre setup, that you're not gonna be able to completely control the smell, so you will hae to cover to some degree..

  3. well I think i may invest in a grow tent to better control the smell.
Unfortunately I don't think im gonna be able to have any exhaust going out of the house because of several reasons. I'm a complete newb when it comes to growing so correct me if im wrong but if i blow the exhaust through a carbon filter and into another room will the air coming out be almost completely neutralized?

  4. Look in the DIY section and find the ONA bucket it should help quite a bit

  5. Good idea about investing in a grow tent. As long as you have a quality carbon filter, it should eliminate most if not all of the smell.

  6. if you use a carbon filter and exhaust the air outside your grow room, then the gaps should not matter. When the fan is running it should cause a negative air pressure in the room so the air should only flow IN through the gaps.

you are right to be worried about the smell, it can be unbelievable. The carbon filter took most of the smell out of the air that i exhausted outside, but not all of it. The real problem was when I had to open the door for watering or other maintenance, the smell would travel through the whole house from the garage.
