I've been doing a lot of research before I start my first grow (2 plants, indoor cfl) very soon. I still have a couple of things I'm not very clear on. I have 2 5 gallon smart pots and will use straight coco coir. I am wondering about how much water I will need for feeding. I know there are many factors but I'm growing in a detached garage away from a water source. Should I expect 1 gallon? 5 gallons? Also I plan on having my plants be around 3 to 4 feet tall, so is 5 gallons too large of a container? If so, can I just use less coco in the 5 gal pots?
You'll probably need around a gallon per pot per feed. Really it comes down to environmental conditions that determine when to water...... I have a 5 gallon drum I just fill up at the grocery store every two or three days. 5 gallon should be fine for a 3-4 ft plant
