A couple of sad babys

  1. So a couple weeks ago i threw a bunch of seeds in my pot and this is what i got so far. 4 of my tallest ones were really close to each other so i transplanted two (one in cup and the other died). Sense I moved those two the wilted one in the picture started to look like this. At first i thought it was cause of over watering but the leaves felt more dry.. Im kind of confused.

Im thinking the one in the cup is just looking like this because it got moved.. Yesterday morning it was slumped over, stood back up, then last night at around 11 it was slumped over again. And now today it looks like that

Anyone have any advice for one of them?

  2. Next time, start them in there own small Styrofoam cup or something, you want to avoid disturbing the newly fragile root system. You really don't want to be doing any type of pot changing until 2-4 weeks minimum.

For now, the ones left in the big pale, I would cut 3"X3" up to 4 inch all the way around and drop it in its own container being very careful not to cut any roots when digging them out, thats why I'd do a 4X4" square around it.

But next time, Maybe start the seeds in rock wool if you are gonna plant so many, it will be easier to just pick it up drop it in some soil and your ready to go.

  3. I had one in a cup a couple weeks ago, but noticed my plants were stretching and my lamp toasted them..

Heres from a couple minutes ago.. More of them are starting to curl :( I also noticed a couple of stocks being normal then looks pinched off then back to normal size again.. one looks like the leaves actually curled and turned up for light.

I touched the bottom 2 leaves of my cup plant and they flaked off...

  4. If they are stretching towards the light usually means its too far away, Im assuming your using CFLs? Try and get them within inches from the plant. You will want to be misting them as well at this point. If they still strech get a used TP roll and cut the cardboard in half and use that as a guide, when you go to transplant them bury it deep in the soil all the way up the stem until the base. That will help more roots shoot out of that, and make them more stable.

  5. Im using sunlight during the day and then this 65 watt grow light at night over the plants maybe a foot or so away from the plants. Last time i put my light 3 inches away they all died, so im good on that. And i want to get some fox farm but im not sure if it would mix well with the soil i have now or not.

And i started misting earlier today

  6. way too far away. I keep my floros at about half an inch from the plants. If you keep your light that far away and they will just stretch and stretch.

I can keep my 200W cfl within 2-4 inches of a plant without a problem. I doubt your 65W is gonna do more damage than my 200W.

  7. Is this 65 watt grow light a CFL or a standard incandescent?

Edit: Also, if it is a CFL, is that actual watts or equivilent watts...

I know they used to make IC grow bulbs but they were more trouble than they were worth because of the amount of heat that an incandescent can produce...
