9/11 Remember Thread

There's too much tragedy in the world to bear it on our shoulders, Dizzy.

Ode to your good soul that you wrote this. And ode to the people who died on 9/11, and the many who have died since because of it.

 

I was in the 2nd grade. I remember coming in from recess, and seeing my teacher watching the news and crying, she turned it off as we came in and told us that we would have to ask our parents about what happened that day.

 

I was asleep, and my brother called and told us to turn on the news.
We were glued to the TV for the rest of the day. It was tragedy unfolding
before us

I was horrified.

 

i continue to be upset that the US government continues to withhold the truth about 911 from the global public, and the families of those that died and those who continue to die to this day from cancer and other diseases resulting from being at Ground Zero.

"Never Forget" was the rallying war cry. i will Never Forget the lies, the deceit, and the decades of war that followed all in the name of "The Global War on Terror". not a single one of you regardless of your politics should "Ever Forget" that we, the public, Never Got the truth. to this day.

"national security" my foot. bleh.

 

the "truth" is supposed to be an objective view of reality. the truth is what we all seek and always desire.

this is a well intentioned thread and OP. that's the truth here. i and many thousands of people want an objective view of the reality of all the events leading up to 9/11, and all of the events that occurred in the days immediately following 9/11. but we can't have an objective reality because people and organizations in the US government are keeping the truth from the US citizens as well as the rest of the world under the guise of "national security".

my question to the US government is; who are you protecting from what? i can only imagine the world's reaction, especially the American people's, if the complete truth is finally made known about those events. ime it's never been hard to tell the truth when there's nothing to hide.

the whole planet was a victim of The Global War on Terror which was only made possible by 9/11. i want the truth. all of us deserve it.

 

I asked my mother and got to watch the news for a bit, I didn't understand it very well at that age. You would have been about 13.

I still have a newspaper from 2011 when Osama Bin Laden was killed. "9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden DEAD"

I got to visit ground zero back in 2012, played a few songs on Liberty island and did a few other touristy things with my fellow band class students. One of them managed to score some weed and a pipe, so later at night we went outside the hotel and found some bushes to blaze in. This was the third time in my life someone had offered me weed, but it wasn't until the next time that I finally took my first toke.

 

There's definitely a bunch, not sure if it's all of them. I remember the fountains were pretty neat.

 

I was in hs I believe and we watched the news all day. I'm sure I have more thoughts but I'm really high so forgive me...
