Either way, this list contains some huge names and some of the best to play the game. Including Bonds, Clemens, Pettitte, and Tajada.
I do think it was a conflict of interest for Mitchell to be part of the Red Sox ownership and not recuse himself from this investigation or step down from his Red Sox job. But at the same time, from what I've read so far, it seems like this entire investigation hinged on the cooperation of a trainer who worked for the New York Mets and one who worked for Toronto, so there is an East Coast bias when it comes to this report. Even though there aren't any current Red Sox players named, there are past Red Sox players like Eric Gagne, Roger Clemens, Brendan Donnelly, Jeremy Giambi and Mike Lansing that were named. Lots of big names, it'll be a good Sportscenter tonight.
Im just glad that, as always, my boy Ken Griffey Jr had absolutly nothing to do with it. In his prime he was one of the top players but its now looks like everyone else of his era was on the juice. Say what you want about him but his name has NEVER been mentioned as a possible steriod user. Damn its a shame he had so many injuries
This isn't a definitive list of everyone that ever did it, it's just the players they could find and that the player's union would allow them to print. I believe a random drug test last season caught something like 130 players on 'roids, yet there are only 80 names in the report. Not to imply Griffey did anything, I'm just saying.
i couldnt believe some of the names, even todd hundley, he used to be my favorite player back in the day on the mets, im just glad nobody like wright reyes or beltran used them
sky dog- def. see what your saying, and it is VERY possible that griffey has done steriods (esp. since he is good friends with bonds), but I'm just glad that so far he hasnt really been a part of this whole steriod mess, and hopefully it will stay that way
steroids (or PEDs) to baseball players in the mid 90s up until now was like LSD to hippies in the 70s. everybody was doing it
i was listenin to the news in the other room and i heard that roger clemens did steroids they said "he used winstrol, a powerful steroid, 4 times over several weeks" too bad u gotta do winstrol everyday for several weeks to get good results, so he really didnt get anything out of doin that
they were talkin about this shit on the 6 oclock news today and they made the transition to teenagers doing steroids, they said that 75% of people who do steroids are between the ages of 13-21. I said bullshit.
This is a huge list. Crazy stuff. Some big mentions there, too. Some are more predictable than others, but wow.
Damn. I can't lie, I'm a bit torn up to see Matt Williams on this list. He was one of my hero's growing up. total class act, gamer, tough as shit. Fuck, i'm pretty bummed out now.
Yeah, Mitchell admitted the list is just some of the players and no where near a full list.. and a lot of the report is based off the testimony of weak characters who were facing prison unless they cooperated. Clemens and his lawyer have already come out and deny the report.. it will be interesting to see what follows this report. It just kinda proves my point that you cant put an asterik on anyone.. because roids' have been abused all thru baseball. EDIT- I was mad to see Paul Byrd's name on there.. but as someone else said.. there is an obvious conflict of interest and the credibility has already been attacked in the first day of the report
All I can say is this If you can take a drug that can help you make MILLIONS of DOLLARS theres not to many people that will say no. it sucks bigtime. Baseball fan since I don't know how long. I remember when Robbie Alomar spit on the umpire !
I dont see why they dont just allow roid's and shit in baseball.. allow the opportunity to all players to do them.. lift the ban they cant clean up the game anyways.. the MLBPA has already admitted today that they cant test for HGH and are years from being able to.. if you can only catch some of the cheaters, there is really no point.. atleast in my eyes.. what are you going to do, stop steriod use but increase HGH use? Allow these athletes to do roids, after all they are getting paid rediculous amounts of money to entertain us.. if they want to enhance their bodies, thats their right as human beings.
I would hate for them to let them play jacked ! that will ruin sports and cause the end of the world !
