8 Week T-Break

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by Onieronaut, Mar 10, 2011.

  1. My first experience smoking ganja was an absolutely euphoric experience. I tried it with just the right amount of mental preparation, readiness and maturity, and most importantly the right people.

After repeated usage, which created many fond memories and important lessons, the effects that ganja began to have on me greatly differed from my few exciting first hits. The novelty of using had worn off, and I no longer kept having mind blowing epiphanies or unreal sensations. Weed still worked, but I was chasing the old effects rather than pursuing new ones.

Many more sessions later, after a few new pipes, breaks, abstinence, unfortunately even depression and guilt, I finally came to terms with my feelings on Mary Jane. I love marijuana, but I realize that there's a way to use it right and a way to abuse it--though they differ greatly between people.

Since I now found how to more fully enjoy the herb, I decided to play a game with myself. I planned an eight weak t-break which is the longest I have ever been without using since my first toke. It has been easier than expected, and I only have 10 more days left. Better yet, I'm all stocked up on brownies and bowls, ready to try new things in life--enhanced by the truly life-changing plant.

  2. my god man, 8 week??? shit i have a crappy job and no responsibilities, i would die of boredom without weed lol.

please post here when you take your first toke! i wanna see how baked you get lol.

you better plan on getting nice and stoney! :smoke:

peace & good vibes to you!

  3. You sound like a smart man. Way to go! :hello: I know I don't get mind blowing revelations like that anymore, but even though my tolerance increased, MJ found a new niche and place in my life. It truly allows me to evaluate life without emotions interfering with my thought process. Of course moderation is key in all things. Love life and live brother!

  4. I'm impressed at your presence of mind, also that you have gone so far into your break already.

  5. Yeah, thanks Ocean. I'll be sure to come back here when the break is complete! It gets easy after a while. Once you cope with the fact that you're trying not to smoke weed , you find other things to occupy time.

And I think it's great MadSativa that you've found a way to use marijuana to look introspectively into your life. Hope it continues to offer some interesting insights

These brownies R dank; they have marshmallows :D!
I live in cool Colorado, I hope to go on a hike if it's warm in a few days.

  6. Damn that must've been hard for an 8 week break. I lasted 1 week and found myself picking up again. But make sure you post on the day you do toke it up, I bet you're gonna be SUPER fucked. :hello::hello::hello::hello::hello:

DUDE wtf I HAVE THE SAME STORY AS U
    check it out

    http://forum.grasscity.com/apprenti...olerance-huge-problem-us-all.html#post9341458

to be honest with u, i finished my 2 month t-break recently, and the smoking was great and even though the highs i expierienced reminded me of those in the beginning of my ganja career :smoke: this wasnt still wasnt enough time for my brain to completely RESET my receptors. i hope one day i get to experience that first time high

  8. Oh and BTW how much grams did u use? and for how big of a batch? (is 5g of green in ganja butter enough for a batch?)

  9. Wow, that's really great.
I had similar feelings towards Marijuana and am quickly coming to a finish of my one year break from smoking it.
Come March 30th however, it's on.

  10. Yeah Rhasta, I just got done reading your thread. I'm eighteen & probably a more moderate smoker than you (less seasoned). Pretty similar story. You say you exercise a lot during your break; ever notice weedy smelling B.O. lol? It always fascinates me when I extrude it.

My philosophy on the 'RESET' button is that you can never have the first experience again, but we could all reach that same disorienting/ecstatic high with enough determination. Just a simple tolerance break wont cut it however. To get the same new, exciting, 'stoned' high, I think a person has to be off of the drug for years. Enough time for some real life changes involving both a new lifestyle of fulfilling non-weed related experiences and sense of detachment from the drug and past experiences all together.

I put 1/4 OZ into 3/4 cup butter yielding 24 brownies. Fairly weak: .29 grams per brownie and I'm sure that all of the cannabinoids didn't get bonded to the lipids. Still have the other 3/4 OZ though! OH SHIT!

That's a pretty impressive story I'm sure Rachel. I hope the break hasn't been too forced and that there wasn't anything too horrible leading up to the break. I be you're excited and I'm glad that you could pull through.

I'd hope that we all check back in here after the breaks to talk about new experiences

  11. No offense, but if I were you, I would just get high now. I mean shit, you already went 7 and a half weeks, I don't think 10 days would make much of a difference, but that is just me. More power to you.

And yes, I am starting my own tolerance break right now (day 2) and I will be off of weed until 4/20.

  12. Yeah, there's not really much to the 8-week mark. I just set a goal and I'd rather not change it 3/4 of the way in. 56 days is like:smoke:... just like ... a number man:smoke:

  13. Finally smoked, and it was pretty strong. Felt very shaky the second time, but smoking is nonethelsess still a smooth experience. I'm going to find a way to eat the brownies slowly so as to start off dosing myself in smaller increments.
    Can't wait; The End,

  14. very nice post man
congrats on going so long I don't think I could go 8 weeks!

  15. I didn't set a goal out for myself, but I ended up taking a 7 week T-break and I came back when I felt I was ready. I had a moderately low tolerance to begin with (most I ever smoked was 3 or 4 days in a row, usually every Saturday and Sunday) and it was great. I definitely did better than my first few highs.

  16. lol im on a 8 week t-break too, but that's cuz i was forced to & now i gotta take drug tests every week, i've been sober for like 3-4 weeks now but i still have 5 more weeks to go cuz my THC levels on the first and second test were sky highhh looool

  17. I'd love to accidentally take a break:eek:
Not setting limits is a good step though, sounds like a fun time.

  18. cool story bro, im happy for you :)

  19. I'm happy for you. Hope your break and session goes well.

I have also abstained from marijuana for quite some time, but I will resume smoking on Friday when I pick up my bag.
