8 plant perpetual grow QBs

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by versicolor, Apr 13, 2021.

  1. Hey all. It's been quite some time since I've posted pics of my QB grow. I moved into a new house so I have a new setup and was able to increase my 4 plant grow to 8. Got another 4x4 tent and trying out a spiderfarmer 4000 light. Bigger veg tent as well. Still killin it with the QBs. Getting great yields and top shelf nuggage. In case anyone is the interested this is a quick rundown of what I'm doing.
I use all GH nutes. Simply because they are fairly cheap and so far I haven't found anything that gives me better results. I flower in 7 gallon pots and veg in 3 gallon. In one tent I have two HLG 260xl QBs and in the other a spider farmer 4000. Growing GG4, Northern lights, grape god, apollo and girl scout cookies. 4 plants in each tent harvesting 2 plants every other week. Averaging between 8 and 10oz per plant depending on strain. Gotten as high as 13oz before with grape god. Let me know if anyone has any questions. I'll do my best to answer. Thanks for looking.

  4. This is ideal right here! This was the original plan before getting the guts to throw some outside, but damn makes me want to invest in some new equipment.
    Good stuff!

  5. Love the perpetual dude. I have been running my little perpetual setup for a few years and harvest one every 10-14 days'ish. Love the flexibility. Nice setup. Cheers

  6. Thanks for the comments. I put a lot of effort into the grow and it pays off. At this point it works like a well oiled machine churning out high quality bud every other week. Lots of work but the results reflect it. I would say the plants under the quantum boards do just a bit better than the ones under the spiderfarmer. But it's all very good. I'm always tweaking things though. It's like having dials and knobs and buttons and switches. Turn the dial a little this way, a little that way, push a button here, flip a switch there. Nope that didn't work so try another adjustment, yup that made an improvement so go a little more. Sometimes I feel like a mad scientist. But I have it dialed in pretty good now so it's just minor things here and there. Always trying to get a little better each time. Thanks for checking out my post.

  7. I want to comment .
If your just trimming all the bottoms off . Looks like 2 or more feet of nothing.
Why do you veg to that height ?
Just top the plant a few timers get more tops. Shorter plants .
It will pull more yield and be shorter slightly less veg time .
How the plants are. If you were under hps in a larger room and the plants were spread out more you could leave the bottom of the plant on it would yield .
My opinion . I am just wondering . But what you accomplished is great good job .

  8. Hey thanks for the suggestion/advice. I've done it different ways and tried many methods. Including topping more, keeping the plants short etc. I do top, and I let em grow to about half the height of what I want them to end up in flower. So generally they are about waist high at end of veg and ready to be switched to flower. Some strains stretch more than others in flower. GG4 and northern lights tend to get much taller than the others in my grow. I always remove the bottom portion. Probably about 1/4 up. Anything that isn't going to amount to much or get much light exposure because of crowding. Anyways, the reason I do it the way that I do is because out of everything that I've tried, its what seems to work best. It's really that simple. I get great yields and excellent bud quality every time. And to be honest, I just don't need more than the 8 to 10oz per plant that I get. I'm happy with that.

  9. All the matters is your happy and it works for you . Its good to cut the bottoms off. No need for popcorn buds .
And it must of been a oversight . Emai me some smoke lol .
