Included in Sheriff Leon Lott's arrest extravaganza: The suspected owner of the bong -- who wasn't even at the party -- but was allegedly trying to sell the bong on eBay for $100,000, according to WIS. The bong is reportedly not responding well to Lott's questioning -- and is blaming it on a loss of short-term memory. I called the department where Sheriff Lott, the man who arrested them, works. I told them I wanted to make a comment about Sheriff Lott and they redirected me to a recorded message. I didn't even get a chance to criticize them!
Incredibly lame. I don't know what message the county wants to get accross, but if it's that smoking weed is bad, I think they're failing. That message is being muddled by the message that the law enforcements are douche bags for taking such a petty offence so seriously. But I guess this view differs.
The only top reason I could think of the officer doing this is to make a name for himself and his county/station. Just think about all the appreciation he will get amongst the dick officer crowd for pursuing something related from a picture. I think that's why he did it. Not just because it's the law.
