So ive been 5mm my whole ADULT glass career (nothing that looks like it was made by jerry garcia) and had only really hit anything thicker than that (*twss) until I just bought a 7mm ShowerHead 35mm Joint Downstem Left Coast Ice pinch and ice pinch bowl from the soon to be closed capitol hemp... However, The jump for me is so noticeable. The smoke stays dense, the glass stays cold, It feels solid, It hits smooth and even, Its easy to clean, etc. My feeling is that 7mm Really is a step above. While its not NEEDED...I got by with 5mm for a decade and it wasnt like I was crisp...I absolutely recommend all enthusiasts to take the 7mm plunge soon. I wish I hadnt waited so long.
I've been all about 7mm after my first tube. I don't know what it is....it might just be me, but I've always felt like I had a much more expensive piece in my hands when the glass was heavy and thick and I'm not as nervous while using it which makes it a better experience for me.
Yeah its incredibly satisfying to hold and I dont have to worry about my stupid drunk friends knocking it over.
