70 watter?

  1. Ive got a 70 watt hps light that will be lighting my opium strain seeds hopefully within the week. my question is will this light be enough to have the plant give a full yield? i also have a 30-10-10 nutrient for later in the veg phase and my soil is set at pH 6.5

  2. No....you should go grab a 2-pack of 23w cfls for full potential. Thats for 1 plant tho.

  3. mm -- no 70-watts isn't very much. you want 100-watts (bare minimum) for the first plant 50 additional watts (bare minimum) for each add'l plant.

Even with the 2 CFLs I wouldn't expect full yield. CFLs are very limiting during flowering. I say this from experience, not from being harsh on CFLs (cause i like CFLs).

  4. This ^^ 100 watts is pretty much bare minimum, I try to get 200 watts per plant, because that ensures I get a nice fat yield off every plant.

If you can try to pick up some HPS(high pressure sodium) lights, it gives a good spectrum for the flowering cycle.

  5. found cheapo 400 watter hps, has anyone ever used this company/ had success? only 99 bucks with ballast and fixture. I also have two 60 watt cfls from another grow, i guess ill just pop those in, maybe the mixture of spectrums will help it out too.
