7 month old weed?

    i found a stash of some old weed in my closet but its 7 month old can i still smoke it it smells strong like it used to i put it in a ziplockbag in a tiny tar wich gave like no smell but i smoked alittle and it tasted weird coffeish is it safe to smoke?
