The Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy on DDAY. Thousands of American, British, Canadian, Australian and other allied forces were killed on this day that forever altered the course of the great war and pushed the Third Reich back into germany. please take a moment to remember the men(and women) that sacrificed their lives for the freedoms we have today.
I agree. Real flesh and blood is the price for the freedom that is so often taken for granted. Here's to those that died for my freedom. And also to those that still are.
this next bong i'm smoking is for all of those who died that day 65 years ago. Without you all i wouldn't have the enjoyment to smoke in peace God bless and thank you
my dad died june 6th 18 years ago, i was just a couple month =/ rip to the troops who fought and the dad i never had
ah yes d-day. When the soviets already had the germans on the defensive for A WHILE, the good ol' americans decide they're gonna jump in and "end" the war. Yea, that's it....
wow....you realize that I clearly said American, British, Canadian, and Australian troops didn't you? oh wait, you didn't, because you probably didn't even read the thread and just wanted to bash the US you also failed to realize that the only reason Russia wasn't burnt to the ground was because the opening of the second front (ie because of the DDAY invasion). This forced the germans to divert their forces from the east back to europe. If you think the russians stood a chance by themselves you are a fool. Tell me why Stalin was putting so much pressure on the Americans to open a secopnd front? because he was just getting lonely? no, because he didnt want to see his country get burnt to the ground (and him lose power) good try though trolly boy
also, thanks to the other people who realize the sacrifice the men made for the freedoms we have today (yeah, I realize things aren't perfect but I would rather live under the laws we have now than under the Third Reich. Here you may be sent to jail for drug use, but under the nazis Death was a more likely punishment)
my grandpa was in ww2. not in normandy or anything but in new guniea. i always had mad respect for him for that. thanks to out brave soldiers!
Today is definately a day worth remembering. It was the biggest land, sea, and air invasion in history, and for a good cause. All those soldiers deserve a moment of remembrance. I honestly have been watching the History Channel all day, with a Band of Brothers marathon and all the great shows about D-Day.
