600w lights

  1. Hi guys, this is all new to me and I've been hearing conflicting info. Would anyone know how many 600w hid Lights i can run off a circuit in my house without having it trip?
From what I've been reading a circuit will only allow for 2400watts or 80% of that before tripping.
I will also need fans etc working off the same power supply. Any info appreciated, I know this has most likely come up beforehand but I cannot find it after a long search.
    Thanks

  2. For safety reasons it's best not to run the circuit to the max, right around 80% is standard. The circuit shouldn't trip until the rated current is exceeded.

You can run two if you have a 120V 15A circuit, its max is 1800W, 80% of that is 1440W.
You can run three if you have a 120V 20A circuit, its max is 2400W, 80% of that is 1920W.

  3. Cool, thanks for the reply. I'll have to get someone to put in another circuit than I guess just to be on the safe side.
