I'm growing in a Secret Jardin DR90 tent Quantum 600w digital ballast Ushio 600w HPS bulb Aircooled reflector cooled by 171 cfm fan 5 gallon Hempy Buckets 3:1 Perlite to Vermiculite 171 cfm fan extracting air out of tent Both plants had LST Nutrients are; Technaflora 3part BC series, Silica Blast, MaxiCrop, Orca Mycorrhizae innoculant, Earth Juice Micro. pH is usually around 5.5-5.8 The strains are Jelly Bean and Grand Daddy Purple. Both strains were gotten as clones from local dispensary. Originally there were also two blue cheeses but they both suddenly stopped growing while the other two exploded and were tossed. Ive never heard of Jelly Bean and the folks at the dispensary tell me its not TGA's Jilly Bean but something else. Jelly Bean is going for about ten weeks and the purple going for about eight, depending on trichs. Fans extract into crawl space Below are Jelly Bean Day 11 flower Below are Grand Daddy Purple Day 11
Looks awesome so far. I've always been interested in hempy buckets, but never got around to trying them, lol. Too bad about the blue cheese, it's a great strain. subbed.
Thanks, I tried NFT to not much success but hempy buckets are giving me great results. Mix nutes in gallon jug and feed, pretty easy but I just gotta make sure to leach with clearex every few weeks. I'm considering getting snow storm ultra, anyone use it? Edit: Definitely gonna try blue cheese again but ill try to get it from seed. Was super bummed they both failed, I got two for just that reason
Day 17 of flowering The grand daddy purp buds are a lot fatter and squatter than the jelly bean which makes sense since the purp is an indica while the jelly is, by my guess, more sativa based on the looks of the leaves and growth. Both are starting to get stinky. the grand daddy purple especially smells good and reminds me of grape. First two are Grand Daddy Purple and the three after that are Jelly Bean
Day 27 flower Both plants are starting to put on weight, especially the grand daddy purp. A couple of the Jelly Bean branches are starting to bend under the weight, and the grand daddy purp is showing a ton of resin production. Its hard to get a good picture of the resin under the 600w light and I suck at photography. Ill post pictures of them under white light on my next post. The buds on the purp are much bigger than the jelly bean but its a little hard to tell because of the number of leaves and how big they are while the jelly bean has smaller leaves and less of them Jelly Bean: about six weeks to harvest Grand Daddy Purple: about four weeks to harvest
A cola is getting too close to the light and gettin a little burnt. Moved the light up about three inches and hopefully that helps
Looks good, but id suggest putting a fan in and have it blow over the canopy. That might solve some heat issues.
Yea a gentle breeze would definitely do them good, help with stem development and would just get the air moving. Heat hasnt been a big problem this grow though. Its getting cold where I live and the with the air cooled reflector Ive been able to keep the light about a foot and a half from the tallest cola, taking into account the distance from glass to bulb, without any problems. It can get a little chilly at night and I'm just hoping its enough to get the purple genetics to express themselves. Around what temp do the plants usually starts showing color?
Havent posted in a bit. Got Grotek Monster Bloom and it has made a hell of a difference. Colas on the jelly bean are enormous and resin production is picking up. Grand Daddy Purple has really put on weight and im excited to harvest it soon. All the branches are bent over and Im using Yarn to hold them because i have no normal string. My MaxiCrop is going bad and Ive stopped using it. Got a bottle of Earth Juice Catalyst and using that instead. The catalyst must have a lot of amino acids cause it is ridiculously buffered. Using catalyst takes the nutrients down to about pH 3.5 and then I need at least 10 mL of base to bring the pH up to 5.5 whereas if the pH is at 3.5 without catalyst, it only takes about a mL to bring the pH up to 5.5

As promised, heres photos first two are jelly bean while last three are grand daddy purple. The purple string is to hold up the bud, plants bending a lot under the weight. Ill be flushing the GDP in about four days with clearex and then chopping five days after that. I have one of those cheap 45x pocket microscopes to check trichs and im using that to determine when to harvest.
Thanks, hopefully around 6-8 ounces. I dont feel that its unreasonable off a 600 watt light for two plants
harvested both plants two days ago with an amigo, here be some photos. I was gone for few days prior and theres a bit more light burn but nothing to worry about. When I cut the support strings, both plants just bent over sideways from the weight of the bud. definitely gonna use bamboo stakes for the next grow. Using string ties is annoying. We collected and combined the trim from both plants in a five gallon bucket and added eleven pounds of dry ice. The dry ice froze the trim solid and by sticking my hand in the bucket and grabbing a handful of frozen plant matter, i could easily pulverize it to powder just by squeezing. A 120 micron (I think this was the size) was placed over the bucket and the bucket was then shook like a salt shaker (with dry ice still in it) over a cleaned counter top and the resin just poured out. The pile collected in the photo was only after five minutes of shaking. The trim will be saved and ill do a butane extraction to get the rest of the goodness when I return after the holidays. The hash I collected is awesome, although its still pretty wet, making it difficult to smoke but it knocks me on my ass and it smells a lot like gingerbread. I love the taste of hash, nice and spicy. Next harvest I am gonna let the trim dry before I try working it to make sure all the water is removed. Made pressing the resin into hash super difficult since water kept spurting out while pressing and made a bit of a mess.
