Hey dudes im a newbie boobie, ive just put up my 600w metal halide and my clay pebbles have started going white (with the heat it seems) what does this mean that simply theve got to hot?? also...my temps right near the plant is 27-28C but above the reflector its about 31-33C, my reflector is so how i cant even put my hand near it and also my ballast is roasting(standard magnetic ballast) is this normal?? http://postimg.org/image/e786r26lp/full/ - pic please let me know what you think more pics on request (the closer i bring the camera it has loadsa lines on it thanks
Take pics when the lights are off or stay away from the magnetic ballast, it interferes with most cameras. Your plants look good, but you have to change your ventilation to get better temps.
Thanks for the reply. When the light is switched off I use a heater but the overall tent temp is about 72F. The light gives of so much heat. The plants are curling up on the edges and it looks like Mg deficiency but my PH is fine its 5.8. \nI keep the drip system on continuously when the bulb is on \nhttp://i61.tinypic.com/vymj8.jpg \nhttp://i62.tinypic.com/8ydcut.jpg \nhttp://i62.tinypic.com/2u5rmgj.jpg - you can see clearly the leaves curling up and going brown
Maybe some info on your setup will help understand why your temps are so high, or a pic would be better along with the info.
