600 cmh and a 600w hps ballast

  1. Can I use the 600 watt hps ballast with my 600watt cmh bulb, yes i know there are conversation kits but i orderd the wrong ballast becuase my lights are already in the hood just needed the ballast and I accidentally ordered a hps balast.

  4. I've got a 600w ballast that takes hps and cmh. Only cost me like £90.

  6. Lol i thought i ordered the convertable one and the panflet i received with the balast had a picture for one convertible with a little toggle switch and this one is clearly not what i was trying fo purchase

  7. Mine don't have a toggle switch iether mate. Just change the bulb :).
     
  8. Like change it to an hps bulb because the cmh in there right now lights up then turns off after about 12 seconds.

  10. Fuck me haha so they are. I had no idea mate. Had my mh / hps rig for years aswell.
    Aghhh......That's why the hortilux 315s do so well. That's bugged the shit out of me for ages. I actually can't believe I've been at this so long and never realised.

  11. Unless your ballast is compatible i wouldnt do it. Look up dual arc bulbs,
    I love'em runs on a hps ballast, but has both metal halide, and hps in 1 bulbs.
    A 600w will set you back like $60.

  12. I am running a 600w hps conversion bulb at the Mo

    on my week old seedlings

    big ass muther that mogal screws into a hps ballast

    keep the temp gauge close by, and fan

    check as french fries too

    good luck

    I'd use LED but they do fade over time ...little will tell you so
     
  13. Hmm I have a 600cmh 3.3k hortivision that runs on a HPS electronic ballast works good for winter
