hahaha im amazed at how many people get this wrong, please post your answers damn, i really hope the first person gets it right rules: no calculators solve for x: 6/2(2+1)=x
thank you so much for being smarter than the average american...fuck ive been having an argument with a friend of mine for the last hour
P.E.M.D.A.S. Or easily remembered as: please excuse my dear Aunt Sally -Parenthesis -Exponents -Multiplication -Division -Addiction -Subtraction And that is the order of operations... Gotta love high math requirements for college. So it would end up being x=9
don't you have to do the multiplication first??? as in 6/2(2+1) = x 6/2(3) = x 6/6 = x x=1 am I missing something?
Wrong. First you solve the equation inside, then the equation outside. Then you go to from left to right because multiplication and division have the same priority in the equation. Then you're left with 3x3. Which is 9.
