5x7x6.5 flower room going up. Looking to cover atleast 5x5 of it for now.

Been looking at the hlg 600 rspec

Considered building some boards from there website. All the videos in the world don't give hands on experience though so still not sure of a good setup with them. Knowledge is power and practice makes perfect.

Ultimately trying to cover the whole 5x7 footprint but 5x5 will be sufficient until I'm acctually using the whole space.

Objections? Suggestions? Thanks for the input.

  2. for better coverage i would go with the roi e720 from growers choice
    https://www.growersc.com/led
however you cant go wrong with HLG either I would be fine with either one

  3. The ROI E720 has a price tag 400$ higher. The light spread is better on the edges but wouldn't it be more efficient to use that 400$ on another light?

  4. If thats what you preferred to do. i was just making a recommendation about another option since a lot of people dont talk about growers choice as they do HLG. imo theres pros and cons for both choices or any and all choices when it comes to cultivation, its all personal preference of how you want your set up

  5. Cut the aluminum heat sinks into quarters with a grinder and your light spread will be much better.

  6. Ha.. Valid.. Might as well just build 4 qb 288s in that case?

  7. Heck yeah. I appreciate the thoughts. Looked into the light but couldn't justify the extra 400 bucks. Could add a few boards for more light and better spread with the extra 400.

  8. I have the HLG 600 in my 5x5 great light super bright. My plants loved it

If you go on the website under refurbished you can save $200

  9. Nice. 600 for refurbished.
Its on sale for 699 brand new...

I wonder what acctually goes into a refurbished lamp or if the diodes are old and weaker. In that case might as well just buy a cheaper lamp.

Thanks for the info might look into this for a second one.

  10. Thats rt they running that sale rt now. Refurbished comes fully waranteed. When the new isnt on sale its a great buy.

  11. 1 year on the refurbished. 3 year on the new. If it was another hundred cheaper i would definitely go for it.

Mars has some dope lights but ever since coming across the 600 rspec on sale its kind of hard to justify any other purchase. I do like the rail design better than the boards though.
