500W Raymatix LED, Mimosa + Lemon Jack, 4x4, Hydro

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Deleted member 1080140, Dec 13, 2018.

  1. Duh I read the info.
You have linked the bottom of the grow in someone elses thread

  2. Yeah they did because they were hydro clones I got, but if you look at the trunks later on they've thickened and I spent a fair amount of time bending tops out to lollipop it to get a dense canopy.

I'm getting penetration, I just have a lot of tops and I didn't strip the bottom of the ball of the lollipop so to speak so fan leaves down there catch whatever is left before the light goes to the floor.

Light is 500W (in the title). As I mentioned in the first post setting everything up for what I'm doing I don't like the LED placement on this fixture. It has a 2 rows to color temperature adjust and the off-center causes a large portion of the LED beam to hit the side walls of the extrusion. So I think if they centered the placement it would be better.

This a prototype light and I know for production Raymatix has gone to a flat piece of aluminum with a mounted optic on top and then they're offering a PCB kit style deal where you could construct something like this and they've moved the LEDs all to the center dramatically reducing the "clipping" of the light if you use their extrusion.

I'm working on the next couple updates here as I upload the pics.

  3. What do you mean?

  4. Yeah I went through and read it all. Dumbass me, I think I was thinking I was in another thread. Duh.
I think if you had lowered the lights in the beginning they wouldn't have stretched so much.
They are start to look good now. I like this part of the grow. Bud Porn

  5. Very fast veg ledxpert and starting to look very nice.
I don't understand, is there an area for the roots or are they restricted the cube?
Its been what a month and a half and you are already flowering :)

Do you feel the 5K color caused the initial stretching or is it the feed? I tried Mick Foster's methods last summer and only used MaxiBloom and was surprised how tight-noded the plant was, but this could have just been a strain thing.

  6. Day 50 Total / Day 33 Flower

    Last Thursday

The Lemon Jack in front left is starting to form tops after its set back of me cutting the tops off so I didn't have to raise the light. The weaker Mimosa in the front right is seem to be fattening but way less than back 4 Mimosas, but coming along nonetheless.

Main Mimosas in the middle and back are growing flowers all the way down the stems now. Trichome development really starting hard but all still clear. Unfortunately they don't get a good look at from the outside looking in in the shed.

    Have CO2 at 1200ppm still.

Started to up nutrient to the high end of recommended.

I took some light level measurements with my apogee quantum par meter. At the tops of the Mimosas I'm seeing 1200 umol/m2/s. At the low end of the canopy with light loss from distance and whatever didn't catch plant material I'm seeing 560 umol/m2/s and right in the middle of it all I read 740 umol/m2/s.

  7. Day 54 Total / Day 37 Flower

    This last Monday.

Removed some small branches from that front Mimosa hoping plant will focus on top cola since it is half the size as the other Mimosas. I'm mixed on this technique. There are people that swear by it and Miami Mango likes to let it grow all the way through without sacrifice they say. Hard to know. Should do a side by side one time. Anyways cut those off. The rest of the mimosas look really good. Got a shot of the back ones this time.

  8. Roots are coming out the bottom of the cubes and in to that mat. Since tray is on a slight incline the roots flow out like they would in the wild in soil. They move and split towards the best water paths. Very sturdy.

My total time is since I got the clone. Started in clone, not time since seed.

Initial size from first pic was how I got it. I thought they started to develop fine once I put the light on them here. Based on theoretical recommendations I kept the light close and then dimmed to keep the top at 600umol/m2/s during the time I vegged so I only used the minimum amount of power. I used a meter for this.

  9. Day 57 Total / Day 40 Flower

    Today.

Don't have pics yet but checked on them. Really stacking up well though I think. More pronounced long style colas. The leaves in the colas are getting bigger and you can see increased production because of it.

  10. Day 61 Total / Day 44 Flower

    Last Monday.

Things are really fattening up. Mimosas look good. Lemon Jack finally budding on front left there but you can see it's weeks behind.

  11. Day 65 Total / Day 48 Flower

    Friday

Things are starting to look really good! Check out the close up.

Room ran out of CO2 two days ago so room is sitting at 0ppm CO2 when lights are on. Got it refilled this weekend. Don't know how much that will affect it.

Dropped room to 70F on and 65F off to help prevent mold now that growth has stopped and its just thickening. Dropped RH to 50-65%.

Now just gotta sit back and watch! Update from today next.

  13. Man them trich's are looking all clowdy and some amber's it seems. They are close to cut time from what I see in that close up pic.
Those are nice, good job on those

  14. From when you first started till now, wow!! What a difference.

  15. Yeah just a prototype. I'm going to get their production unit here on the next go and give it a whirl so that should be fun. But yeah loving it.
Thanks! yeah they finished nicely. I started flushing this weekend. Going to let them finish the week out or so on just water, we'll see. Temp has dropped so some purple should start showing up. Got another update here in a second.
Yeah thats the way I got them which is why I took a week or two veging them out in to lollipop to bush em out and really fill in the a dense canopy. Next go though I might no to lollipop and see what happens.

    Day 71 Total / Day 54 Flower

    (yesterday/Wed)

So took some pics with the 5000K fully on. There's some studies showing finishing with blues helps terpenes. I dunno but did it for a day for the heck of it and took some pics so you can see it under different light.

As I mentioned earlier its been flushing for a few days now.

You can see the lollipop at the bottom there and you can see that Lemon Jack I was talking about that was so lanky just finally give out and fall over pulling on the trellis and now all the mimosas are collapsing inward.

You can start to see the tops starting to go purple. The back is most impressive but its hard to get back there. Maybe I'll jump back there and get a different angle, just hard to squeeze past the door like this now that everything is so grown.

    Anyways, the time is near.

  17. Life got in the way here and I dropped off the forum. I have the notes from my grow book and a few more pics. I'll post the final results this coming week when I'm back with my book and start a journal on the next grow I'm working on. Happy weekend all!
