EDIT: Just to start things off here, this is going to be my daily driver, I don't want to have to buy an AC or anything for it other than a slide, I just want something that will do it's job on it's own. So which of these, or whatever you want to suggest in my price range, will give the best smoothness to rip size ratio, if that's even something you can wrap your head around? After buying my first piece, trying a few different things with it in an attempt to get it to the point where I was satisfied, failing, and deciding to keep it as a travel piece to bring to friends' houses for nostalgia and because it's still a pretty awesome tube, I'm finally ready to buy my first piece of high end glass, hopefully something that'll keep the itch for a new piece away for awhile. I've got $500 to spend, but I'd prefer to keep it below $450. After doing a lot of research, I've narrowed my choices down to the following: - SG King StemLine ($360 or $420) - Mobius 60/65mm Stereo Matrix ($420 or $480) - SYN Full-size Showerhead ($450) - SYN Full-size Showerhead w/ SYNergy splash guard ($500) I'm looking for something with a very smooth hit, but not so there's absolutely no drag as I like to feel my hits, that allows you to take good sized rips (leaning away from the 60mm Mobius due to limited capacity). I'd also like to preserve flavor as much as possible but I realize 15"+ pieces generally aren't gonna be the best for flavor anyways. I'm not a huge fan of the Mobius mouthpiece, the angle or how small the bore is, so I'm currently leaning towards SG or SYN unless someone can convince me otherwise. So please, cast your vote and if "Other', lemme know what you think I should get! Also, if I buy the King Stem, should I go for the $360 one with a clear B Wilson DD slide, or the $420 one with a SG worked 4-hole slide? I've heard wonderful things about both. Also, how big is the bowl size of the SG 4-hole? If anything other than SG, I plan to get a clear AND worked B Wilson slide (clear for when with friends as it's a bigger bowl, worked one hitter when I'm alone). Thanks!
The möbius for your price range, the diffusion on the piece is killer. I've hit it before and water tested it countless times just because it looks so fucking cool when you hit it. The hits aren't all that airy an who says it can't handle the rips? I've seen that tube competing with the best of em.
Agh, I was hoping this would be a more one-sided voting process... I almost want to remove the Mobius from the competition, I'm just not a fan of it aesthetically, the slanted, hinky looking neck joint just makes me shudder and the bore is tiny compared to what I like. It's just had so many great reviews! As far as the King Stemline goes, I've heard a lot of people saying it's TOO big, but all the milk videos I've been watching it seems to milk up VERY quickly. Are they just talking in terms of flavor/smoothness of hit? It seems like about 80-85% of King Stem users think it's flawless, doesn't need an AC, and is just generally amazing, and the other 15-20% say it's actually HARSH and ruins flavor. How can the vast majority say it's one of the smoothest tubes they've hit (including some vets), then there's people out there saying it's very harsh and doesn't hit well?
Welcome to online reviews haha. You should get a 2012 BC or a Sov. maybe if you think that's what will make you happy, stemlines are nice nothing too special though in my opinion. Mobius is definitely a newer company and maybe not as innovative as Sov, but that being said everyone that has one seems to like it a lot. It kind of depends what you want, are you really after smoothness?
Honestly I'd say I am after the following in this order: 1. Smoothness 2. Flavor 3. Hit-size 2 and 3 are pretty close in importance, so I guess what I'm looking for is an all-around solid performer. Smoothness is definitely most important though, I'm not a big fan of harsh coughing and burnt/irritated throats. From spending more time looking at the Mobius it's slowly growing on me as it's a very classy looking piece. There's just way too many options out there! Hahahah.
honestly just buy an oz, and something cheep. Anyone who puts more than a 100 on a bong is a waste. you can get one and enjoy it
And the inexperience shines through. A straight tube hits VERY noticeably less smoothly than a straight tube of the exact same size and dimensions with a well made perc in it would. After a point, yes, it's redundant, but that point comes after the $300 range for sure. This ain't the world of high end audio equipment where spending an extra $200 let's you barely distinguish between two slightly differently tuned high hats better (aka massive waste of $200). Anyways, I forgot to mention this piece is going to be used exclusively for flowers if that makes a difference in peoples' choices. I see 6 votes for other but nobody is posting any suggestions.
Different pieces require different approaches to smoking out of them properly -- people don't understand that. I find that it takes me at least a few weeks to learn how to hit a new pipe I get the right way. It eventually becomes muscle memory. If you are in it for taste the 60t is the way to go dude.
you cant really go wrong with either id also look into the kush scientific puckline there really nice and the 2012 bc netline are really nice to
Seriously dude, don't waste that much on a piece, buy a basic glass blowing set and blow your own. I craft everyone of my pieces, while I can't blow glass, I have made many amazing bamboo bongs with a crafted metal bowl. Spend hours trying to perfect something then any hit will be amazing. My opinion, buy some hand tools, a nice knife and a drill at least, and go carve yourself a piece and just buy a bowl. I never bought a piece and my pieces have sold for 300 to some people. And you can make it yourself.

The man asked his opinion on which piece to buy. He's obviously not looking for a DIY suggestion bro.
