Hello everybody, it's been 9 years since I've been on the forum and I recently made an impulse purchase and bought a bunch of 50watt 220volt cob leds. Right now I have the four yellow ones they call cool white running in a tent and seems to be veggin nicely... what do you think about these on board driver version leds?
Im wondering if I should add the full spectrum leds or swap them out. I have more heatsinks and fans? I've read that 30watts per plant is considered saturation so I know I have more than I need.
It's not gonna be to long and im gonna flower so I started building my flowering light, I found these heatsinks at an electronics supply/surplus store for 6.00 each and the fans were 5.00, I should have bought the fans on ebay or Amazon for way cheap but these guys always take care of me. I drilled the heatsinks for the chips and I scored on some Thermalcote, a pound for 10.00!!! WOW it will last a while ... The chips came from aliexpress 10 full spectrum and 4 5000k for 24.00 to my door. I'm a 600 watt HPS old-school grower and heard these leds were no good, well im impressed so far im veggin on 4 50 watt Cobbs and it's been 6 weeks since these beans popped and I got teenagers so im right on target! I'm excited im gonna flower 5 potential girls as these are regular seeds and I haven't sexed them yet.
Nothing to add here... I’m just along to learn about leds. I’m used to 600 watt hps and bought a cheap led before reading up on them. Mines decent but I think it can be better
Score on the heatsinks and fans! Good on ya for buying local! Your plants have good colour and size. I run 3500k thru the whole grow with 5000k supplemented. More in veg, less in flower.
