What do you guys think time for a topfeed?? six weeks in 5 gallon pots. They would need food at this point…? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This week. I’m pretty sure my ph is high. The run off is testing over 7 .. jus got RO water. Gna ph that down n start watering w that. It’s like 500-600w LED , in coast of Maine Organic Stonington blend/ mixed with the raised bed mix.. (50/50 ratio) I’m at six weeks today. I think it might be time for a Feeding though because it says at about 4 to 6 weeks the first top feed should be done. But I don’t want to feed if it’s locked out I’m gonna see if using a little bit more acidic water for a few days helps. N pull the light up a bit. It’s a good 20 inches away at least
Yes. I’m gonna water w RO water phd down to like 6.somethingish 20230827/4b01659f2b69ee866289b9cf96651ec6.jpg" class="bbCodeImage LbImage" alt="[IMG]" data-url="//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/p.s I raised the big fan, n my side fans up n zip top them in place . so it’s blowing more over the top middle of canopy 20230827/4b01659f2b69ee866289b9cf96651ec6.jpg" /> .. gna have to grab some calmag — iv been using tap but I think it’s a lil high — what’s the best thing to add to my water to very lightly acidify? Citric acid? I’ve heard types of vinegar.. they do sell citric acid powder at Walmart These were at the very very bottom pretty much touching the soil Super dark underneath the canopy— pretty much getting no light at all— I still have a little bit more defoliation to do because it’a bushy as hell down there.. I set up all the necessary hanging poles yesterday. I just have to go and get carabiners so I can fit those around the hanging poles and connect them directly to the top— Both of these lights allow me to bring them almost to the ceiling. I could also dim the one down, see how they respond to only being on like 25% currently at 75. I do know that my water pH is a little high. Gna work on that today.. it just seems like after six weeks they would start needing some food .

Luckily, I remember the dude at the Hydro store told me to give him a call and I can bring in a picture a video. I just got off the phone with him. I told him my run off was pretty high. He asked if my slurry test was high. Yup. as well the water that I have been using is high in ph. I just swapped over to using over RO water — so I do need calmag. I also need a way to bring the pH of that down just a tad because it’s a little bit high as well. And even the reverse osmosis water that I got is still pretty high in pH I thought water was supposed to be about 6 w no additives.. I I think this has minerals added Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To know if RO water is legit check ppms. Should be between 50 and 15. Higher than 7 pH mark should raise a flag. Calmag itself will lower your pH.
Did you flip yet ? In my opinion you need to do a major defoliation soon get them bud sights all lit up don't be afraid to do it
Yea iv been lightly cutting away each day. Today it’s gonna get a good haircut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
https://www.pthorticulture.com/en/training-center/myth-series-water-ph-relates-to-medium-ph/ Fertilizer with high nitrate nitrogen, like 15-5-15 Cal-Mag, has the effect of adding 131 lb of calcium carbonate (limestone) for each ton of fertilizer used by the plant, or in other words, to increase the pH of the growing medium.
Sorry to post twice. RO water pH increases as CO2 of gasses. It makes no difference whatsoever to soil pH because there is zero alkalinity with RO water.
OP, have you looked at your water report yet and then compared it to a university guideline chart for irrigation water? If you are in New England chances are pretty low that your water is a problem. I water all day with water that has a pH of 7.8-8.1. I can do this because alkalinity and hardness are within the guidelines. Only 8 miles away I was using water with a pH of 7.4 but it was double the recommended alkalinity and caused serious problems. Defoliation causes stress and is not something I would do since the plants are already stressed. Fix the problem first. RD
